We had a fantastic family winter vacation. The location of Scandic Polar is good in Rovaniemi. The breakfast was good at Scandic Polar.

# Review of Scandic Polar Hotel in Rovaniemi (3/2025) ## Location The location of Scandic Polar is excellent - very convenient in the center of Rovaniemi and close to shops, pubs, and restaurants. This makes it easy to explore the city on foot and enjoy the local amenities. ## Food The food at the hotel is good quality but lacks variety from day to day. During my stay, I had both breakfast and dinner at the hotel, and while tasty, the menu became repetitive. ## Staff The staff members are friendly and welcoming, providing good service throughout my stay. ## Rooms The rooms are clean and spacious, offering comfortable accommodation. ## Facilities The hotel has a homely atmosphere but feels somewhat outdated, with visible signs that renovations haven't been done for quite some time. There are signs indicating a sauna and gym on the -1 floor, but these facilities are closed and not operational. ## Overall Impression Scandic Polar is a decent hotel for an overnight stay, but I wouldn't recommend it for longer visits. It provides the basic amenities needed for a comfortable short stay, but its dated appearance and limited facilities make it less suitable for extended periods.

The breakfast was good, a nice range of choices. Fresh hot food was good. Staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel was clean. Good central location. Quiet. Comfortable bed. Nice seating area in the lobby.

The shower head did not stay in place when being used. The hairdryer did not work. There were no hot drinks available in the room.

Great location. Within a few minutes walking distance to most of the collection points for all the tours we did. Good price point. Friendly staff.

Very old building and dark lighting throughout. Our room had only one small window that could open, the rest couldn't be opened. We had a small sauna in our bathroom which we used once but it took quite a while to heat up and wasn't really worth it in the end. The breakfast selection wasn't great and some foods didn't taste very fresh.

We only stayed for two nights. The Family room was large and the bathroom meet our needs nicely. The breakfast was excellent and the service and staff very helpful. We wouild stay again.

Nothing, but the hotel is showing its age and needs refurbishing.

3 star so don’t expect much, extremely dated, shower wasn’t great, no kettle in room or phone for reception The Breakfast was disgusting, what is supposed to be scrambled egg is just one big congealed mess that has to be sliced!! Bacon, again very pink , not like bacon Couldn’t have tea as they had no fresh milk, at all, I did ask reception It is kept clean and the receptionists are all very friendly and helpful It’s central location was very useful, but thankfully we were hardly in the room

We stayed 4 nights in Scandinavia Pilar hotel and thoroughly enjoy it. There was a great selection at the breakfast buffet. Rooms were comfortable and clean and the lication was perfect

No complaints, maybe slight but expensive but delighted to be in city centre
