Village Hotel Coventry

Conveniently close to NEC (cca 15 minutes by car). Very good value for a big room, separate bathroom (not that kind of bathroom within a bedroom as at other Village hotels). I appreciated shampoo and body wash toiletries included ( no conditioner). Didn’t use the swimming pool but it looked so good! 3 jacuzzis!!! Also staff was very friendly and helpful! Restaurant on site isn’t cheap but pretty comparable with pub food prices nowadays. Pub classics we had like gammon and fish&chips were tasty!

As with other Village hotels, the walls are made of paper so noise carries throughout the hotel.

Great location for the NEC

The pool area from the changing rooms is so slippery, as it’s untextured flooring so I fell between the locker room and the pool between the two doors on our first day. The life guards did not help, I managed to get up eventually and get back to the rooms as the pain set in. I can’t bend without aid and I was supposed to be walking 12 hours a day at the NEC absolutely ruined the whole trip. It’s so dangerous please wear gripped shoes when going to the pool! It’s 4 days later and I’m in so much pain. There is also no air con in the rooms, which made the summer heat unbearable and the club rooms are large but with empty space? Could easily fit a sofa or a table and some chairs. Finally, just a strange note. A room booked for 2 people and we were only given 1 bath towel which was reported as the same issue in other couples bookings. The same with the ‘sweet treat’ that comes with the club room which was 1 club bar, a nice touch just odd that it’s only 1.
