Radisson Blu Ridzene Hotel

The ‘Soviet Radisson’ of Riga. The rooms are tiny, have no AC, and no hot water. When the water in the shower in the morning was lukewarm I thought that something is wrong with my room. I asked to change rooms and was told that it’s 36C (less than normal body temperature) so it’s fine and that they cannot change rooms and that I should shower at a different time. No apologies were issued. Apparently I was on the fifth floor, which has the hottest water and my colleagues had even colder water. I understand a boiler can break, but you should be able to communicate it in a way that doesn’t make me feel like I’m asking for something unreasonable. The situation was made worse by the fact that the sheets in my room were dirty when I went to bed. It being midnight I didn’t complain and used the other pillow without make up stains. But nobody cleaned my room the next day and when I went in for a quick change of clothes in the afternoon and noticed my room hadn’t been cleaned I asked the front desk to send a cleaner to my room as there are dirty pillowcases. I was told that there are no cleaners working anymore and that they can give me a clean pillowcase to change myself. This is the level of service - straight out of a soviet joke book. Mind you, i just achieved Radisson vip status and was very much looking forward to my first stay with my new status, but ended up with not wanting to stay in another Radisson ever again.

Overall an extremely pleasant and enjoyable stay. Even though decor seems to be elegance from an older era both in rooms and hotel overall, it still is very well maintained and clean. It also has a quiet atmosphere as soon as you enter. Staff are very professional and accessible at all times. Also helpful and courteous. It is also in a very convenient location about 10 mins from old town, and still walking distance to key sites around the city. Even though central, the area is quiet and safe.Check-in was straightforward and the keys actually worked without having to be re-programmed. The rooms are huge but only had one armchair and desk chair, and bathrooms gave you the option of both shower or shower/tub. The air conditioner also worked. The beds/pillows are comfortable but the pillows and duvet are feather down for those who are allergic. The only fault we found was cleaners had missed a spot on the coffee table, But otherwise all else passed the white glove test. Breakfast was very good with good buffet selection of different cheeses, hams, fish, cooked eggs in different styles, fruit, desert and bakery, yogurt and cereals. Also different juices. The Wi-Fi worked quite well, but does boot you out after a certain period. So you have to reconnect once it appears to be slowing down. If you’re not really fussed about brand new modern decor, this hotel is really very pleasant in terms of stay, location, and price especially regarding room size.

The hotel was lovely, breakfast was superb and in a great location for exploring.

Great hotel in the center of the city, walking distance to Old Riga. Good for family.

I went there with two teenagers. Stayed three nights. I booked a standard room, but they gave us a suite. Price was the same. It was a big happy suprise for us. Staff was great. Hotel is nice and quiet. Its near the park and the old town. Only minus was the sofa in the room. It was pretty dirty. Everything else was great. We will come again 🙂

Excellent location. Close to old town, between two parks. Own underground parking garage beneath the hotel. Also the gym and sauna were nice addition to our stay. Ok breakfast.

We stayed only one night, but everything from Check-in to Check-out was excellent. Check-in was quick and the guy at the desk (sorry, cannot remember the name) was polite, efficient and gave good directions for the parking garage. The room, lovely! We got an upgrade based on Radisson status, and the room was so nice, bed excellent and plenty of room. Breakfast had a alot of choice, quality was good, so nothing to complain. Location is excellent, close to old town and easy access by the car, highly recommended!

Beautiful Church view big room very friendly staff make you feel like being at a big house I always stay their and they management gives me the same room always which is super nice make you feel coming back home 😀
