The Oberoi Beach Resort, Mauritius

This property and grounds are beautiful. The service and responsiveness of staff are beyond expectation. It was a wonderful stay. My only dis-comfort were the flies in the dining room. But, I’d still opt for the opening air dining experience!

My wife and I spent two nights at the Oberoi after 17 days on the Crystal Symphony. We didn't think that anything could be better than the 6 star cruise ship, but we were wrong. Oberoi outdid them!

The place is beautiful with beautiful gardens. The service is excellent.

Beautiful hotel with fantastic staff who took care of every detail. Wonderful place to spend part of our honeymoon and highly recommend.

The Oberoi is a beautiful property with very attentive staff. We stayed 14 nights & I believe the average is 5.I had no idea Turtle bay was so remote when the booking was made & as a result we found ourselves often in taxis usually destined for Grand Bay where we had some great Chinese dinners in a little back lane place recommended by Darmon, Oberoi chef. It was "100% local" accordingly to our taxi driver.Be prepared for an $80 return taxi fare. I cant take anything away from this property which probably works better for the average stay of 5 nights. I was surprised at the number of honeymooners there who expressed concern at food & beverage prices within the hotel. These prices are high even by expensive Sydney standards, but looking at the whole package relating to quality & a " fantastic feel" I think the Oberoi offers value in its class. My wife & I tend not to cover as much ground as many travelers but have longer stays. We hope to return to Mauritius for another 2 week stint in a year or 2 following on from African safaris. We will look for quality as near as possible to the Oberoi but in Grand Bay. We enjoyed 2 full day island tours with "Destination Soleil" & their exceptional guide ,Sailen

Fantastic stay, gorgeous surroundings and lovely staff. Primary draw backs were the beach, which was not as expected being quite small and rocky, also the breakfast menu remaind the same for the entire trip. However Mauritius has some very beautiful beaches elsewhere and this just prompted us to go and find them.

Lovely Hotel- amazing service and very personal. Igor the chef is exceptional attending all the meals- food quality very good. Lovely quiet view on the beach which is combed each day!

We had a wonderful time on our trip. Extremely attentive and helpful staff, great variety of activities, delicious food at the restaurants, beautiful scenery and a great location.

A lovely hotel with exceptional service. My wife and I stayed for 5 nights in Nov 2016. The hotel arranged a pick up from hotel we were staying in for a wedding this was a complimentary service. The check in was very quick and done inside the room which was nice. Pros -Perfect for those who want to stay on a resort -Beach is lovely -Service is exceptional from the start and til you leave -Great fine dining choices and great in room dining menu which is surprising. -Spa is clean and quiet - therapist are highly trained for all treatments -Good sports facilities -a choice of 2 pools which was nice and bottles of water and cold towels are provided as soon as you sit on the sun loungers which is a nice touch Cons: -Hotel located in a remote area so you can't go anywhere without a taxi (taxi must be arranged by hotel which can be expensive) -Breakfast menu is very small and not much choice, it is NOT a buffet so you can't have pizza for breakfast!! A selection of traditional eggs/ mauritian/ indian breakfast -2 main restaurants with again not much on the menu if your staying for 5 days. Slightly over priced for what was on the menu but this is expected whilst staying in the hotel -Spa treatments are very expensive more so then other 5* resorts -Birds/ Animals seem to run free in the resort especially at breakfast. It can be such a nuicsance as your trying to eat breakfast but have birds flying in trying to eat your food - this is quite unpleasant.

Wow, I mean Wow!!! Never had this good of service....Four Seasons and Ritz Carlton better watch out, cause this place would do anything for you. When you go to the gym, they phone ahead to housekeeping to make sure you room is clear when you get back. Service at the beach, replacing water bottles when they just were warm...Also, the restaurants were great, service perfect, and food amazing. We were on our honeymoon from NYC, and can not say enough abt the resort. We are now looking to do an India trip, and use only the Oberoi brand. Thank you again-
