The Royce

Rooms were very clean and quiet in the evening. Beds and pillows were the perfect firmness offering a great night's sleep! The service is attentive without being obtrusive. The hotel is located in a very nice part of town near the Botanical Gardens. It's not in the heart of the city but a short tram ride away from most of the attractions. Overall, would highly recommend this hotel!

Lovely stay, great staff, nice decor, neat and clean. Atmosphere is harmonious and joyful. Food was great, room is clean.

I tried to discuss this with the bar manager and then the front desk manager and was not even given a name of the general manager only referred to as Harry and not available. Both managers argued with me that I was wrong because I wanted to sit at my usual table and was asked to move because my preferred place was booked later in the evening. Only problem was that I came in at 4:30 and when I left at 6 more than 10 tables in the area I preferred were still empty. Yet in the minds of these so called hospitality managers I was wrong. I had intended to have a meal but in that hour and a half not a single waiter had come near me to inquire if I wanted anything. I have been there many times before and considered it my relaxing space. I usually go alone and spend about $100 or more and leave a generous tip. Today was not respected and argued with. Obviously no training of staff in hospitality.

Room marvellous, Staff excellent at every point. They were helpful, kind, chatty when we were. Great staff. Breakfast was excellent. Dinner also. Really, superb visit.
