American Inn and Suites Ionia

Nobody up front to check us in had to call to have someone come up apparently the woman was fixing a toilet??? Isn’t that for maintenance to do? Went around to the back door closest to our room and there was some woman in a car with a child in the backseat looked like up to no good. Proceeded to our room, the hallway smelled of something undetectable my son opened his door and the room smelled like 1000 cigarettes went to my room and it smelled like gyros coming out of the vents put all of our belongings back in the car for fear of theft never even stayed drove 4 hours back home that night. Don’t do it!!!

My jacuzzi room was clean and nice. The staff were super friendly. The other room I booked was a regular room, was definitely needing some paint and a little love. Overall, I would still book here again.

Stopped here 2 years in a row now and will stop again if I make a Michigan trip next year

The rooms were clean with fluffy pillows. Air conditioning worked great. Good working refrig in our room. Didn't use the single serve coffee or microwave. No clocks or phone in our room. The pool & hottub had dirty water. Free brkfst was so so. Coffee & juices were flavorless. Very friendly employees

Gave our king size bed room up and told us booking.com was over booking their hotel. Gave us double bed room after months of a reservation. Plus I had two other rooms reserved sure didn’t respect us. Night employee was awful. Rude and inconsiderate when we were upset that our room was given to someone who checked in earlier. We asked if we could get king bed on Sat and was told you were booked solid but you had already done it that night but not for us, she stated she was going to give us jacuzzi suite big it was broke too. Floors cracked in bathroom. Tub had chips out of it. Mattresses were comfortable but discussing dirty. Ironing board with no cover, asked but never got one. Hall floors were dirty and stained.

Overall good. Breakfast bare minimum
