Quality Inn Decatur near US-224

Close to where I wanted to be.

First thing I noticed was the very strong odor of the entire building. Went to Walmart & bought Lysol which didn’t help. Shower was lukewarm at best, ice machine was broken, stains on the worn out second hand store chair, not enough pillows, toilet paper was cheap & thin.

The location was good for us

I stayed in 3 different rooms, two were quite dated and not as clean as I would have like

I visited with many family members. The staff were very kind and accommodating. I appreciated the care they gave all of us, but especially our elderly loved ones. They didn’t mind that we sat in the lobby until late, telling stories and laughing.

NO POOL at this location. Choice Hotels site, Google, and various third party listing sites show pictures and list indoor heated pool as amenity. You have to click into fine details below pet policy and scroll all the way to the bottom to find ONE line that states pool is permanently closed. It was also NOT stated on reservation confirmation. (As a side note, the other hotel in town with an outdoor pool has also permanently closed theirs.)

Great location, and they supply you with shampoo, conditioner, and soap. The coffee in the breakfast room is instant from a machine, but it's drinkable.

The shower didn't work properly, and there was no exhaust fan. The pillows were comfortable, but the bed was a little firm. Breakfast isn't much (toast, bagels, cereal, or waffles)

Good night sleep

Staff were helpful. Very clean room.

I can’t say I was disappointed about anything.
