Capt Hiram's Resort

Very friendly and pleasant staff at check in, gave us a lovely upstairs room on waterfront. Room was large, nice and clean with coffee machine, microwave and fridge. Food in restaurant was good as were all the staff we met. Wish we could have stayed longer.

A kettle in room was only minor thing.

Food was great, staff was very helpful at the front desk and restaurant. We caught a large amount of fish. The restaurant exceeded our expectations preparing a meal for 12 with it.

Nice to have the restaurant/bar with great entertainment and great wait staff and food.

They lost my reservations one day before I got there so I had to reserve new rooms and then when I got there they suddenly found all 4 rooms and wanted to charge me a late cancellation fee to cancel the same day for the additional rooms they made me reserve because they couldn't find my original booking. But they did resolve the issue and I wasn't charged a cancellation fee. They were very nice at the front desk. We had an amazing time staying here.

Could have been cooler in the dining room.

I liked the balcony and the room was comfortable.

I was a bit surprised that our room wasn't closer to the water or at least in eyesight of it. Maybe if on 3rd floor you would have had a view; otherwise we only saw peaks of water between the buildings. I wanted to sit on the balcony and enjoy the sound of the water, but mostly you only heard music from what I guess was a bar. I was also miffed with myself to find out we were charged $22.40 extra a night for amenities: parking, daily use of kayak, paddleboat or bicycle, if available, internet/wifi and a 10% discount on store purchases. Basically we paid $22.40 for parking each day since I never use a public internet/wifi, had no interest in using one of their vehicles, and didn't purchase anything from their store. It was my fault for not paying attention to the note about it when I booked.

Hardest working and friendliest staff my wife and I ever witnessed. We take about six, five+ day trips a year and the staff was that impressive.
