Ballinalacken castle country house hotel

We stayed at Ballinalacken Castle in July. We loved it! It was a hidden treasure! It was private but also close to town and easy access to the Cliffs of Mohr. The whole experience for us was memorable! We enjoyed the tour of the Castle! We also ended up visiting with many of the other guests after the castle tour!

We arrived at the Ballinalacken Castle Hotel before joining our tour group in Ennistymon, and it was the best part of our two weeks in Ireland. Lovely, comfortable rooms, excellent food, a cozy and well stocked bar, and a castle! It left nothing to be desired. Cecilia is a welcoming hostess and connected us with drivers, restaurants, and places to visit. Wholeheartedly recommend.

Had an absolutely wonderful stay here recently to mark a roundy birthday. Right from the start Cecilia welcomed us and we had everything we needed. Our bedroom was elegantly decorated, spacious and had a fab view of the Aran Islands. We had booked the monthly 7-course gourmet tasting menu and it was fab - exceeding all expectations. A sommelier was on hand to talk us through the various wine pairings. Good value too at €95. Breakfast was adequate with good service. Overall I would not hesitate to recommend a stay at Ballinalacken Castle and definitely to book in for the tasting menu if it is available.

Ballinalacken Castle was so lovely. The grounds are beautiful and the owners are extremely friendly and helpful. We got a private tour of the castle with Decklin (the owner) where we learned all about the history of the property. The restaurant was excellent.

We thought it was closer to the town of Doolin, but the hotel arranged ,very easily, transportation for us!

The Ballinalacken Castle Country House Hotel was a lovely place to stay, close to the Cliffs of Moher. We were made to feel very welcome as soon as we stepped through the door. The food was excellent, the beds were very comfortable, the whole hotel is furnished in the classics country house style, very atmospheric, comfortable and cosy with relaxing peat fires. And, to top it all off, there was a comprehensive tour of a castle in the grounds. Thoroughly enjoyable stay, would have loved to have been able to stay longer

Such a beautiful property, clean, comfy and roomy. Breakfast was wonderful. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The views were stunning, and everything was thought about. I loved the local artwork for sale in reception and the quirky layout.

My Wife and I stayed for three days at the Ballinalacken in September 2025. The facility, location and service were all outstanding. The whole place is very picturesque. We had a room with an ocean view and it was a fantastic, the room was very clean and the bed extremely comfortable. The location with the castle behind it was amazing. The staff attentive and friendly and very helpful. The whole facility is very clean, It was a great value. Could not have had a better experience.

Such accommodating proprietors. Family owned business. So hospitable and caring. Beautiful views of ocean or castle. You can get a guided tour of the castle on the property. Close to Cliffs of Mohr and town of Doolin. The restaurant is fabulous and you will not be disappointed with anything on the menu - so original and artistic. There is also a bar on the premises.

Fabulous Stay, lovely views and friendly staff. Meals in the Restaurant were exceptional.
