Ballinalacken castle country house hotel

Ballinalacken was absolutely wonderful! beautiful setting, lovely grounds, clean and cute manor house, all nestled next to a 14th-century castle - what else could you want? Plus, the restaurant offers excellent breakfasts (included!) and wonderful and delicious dinner options.

What a charming place to stay accompanied by even more charming hosts. We stayed here for just 1 night as it’s close to the cliffs of moher and also has a nice old ruined castle on the property that we were escorted around by mine host. Our room was large and comfy and the restaurant served great tasty food. Wifi was good. You have a great view of either the ruins or the distant sea. There are other great sites either before arrival or after you leave. But this place certainly fits as a great place to rest for the night.

Its magical - like stepping back in time - old world elegance and full of history - family owned care is a refreshing change from corporate lodgings… restaurant is 5 star and Doolin /the Cliffs are quite close by.

As a family of 4 with 2 children under 12, we stayed at Ballinalacken for 2 nights. Doolin was one of our favorite spots during our trip to Ireland and the hotel was an excellent combination of a convenient location, fine amenities, and welcoming staff. We had 1 breakfast and 1 dinner at the restaurant and the food was delicious. The restaurant atmosphere and dishes are slightly on the formal side, but not stuffy. The mini-pub is a wonderful, friendly spot to get a pint and chat. Zero complaints.

Ballinalacken Castle is beautifully located with a breathtaking view of the Aran Islands and moments away from Doolin. My room was in the old section of the establishment and was sumptuously decorated. The bed mattress and pillows were quite good as was the bathroom and the toiletries and all were very clean. The staff were great and most helpful. The included breakfast had many good choices, and the one night we chose to eat dinner here was very fine. I would certainly stay here again.

I recently visited this property at the tail end of a wonderful trip to Ireland's west coast. The hotel is ideally located, easy to get to and close to the wonderful village of Doolin. It is also just an hour or so from Shannon, so makes a great place to finish your trip so as not to leave too long a drive to the aiport, whilst still allowing you to linger on the west coast for as long as possible.

Everything felt a bit tired and musty, tiny old TV and patchy wifi.

This was our favorite hotel of a 10 day trip. We were treated to a 5 star tour of the castle the evening we arrived. The restaurant was lovely, incredible views and excellent food. Our room was very comfortable. We also enjoyed the beautiful artwork throughout the Inn. Excellent service. We will definitely return!

We had a wonderful two night stay at the Ballinalacken Hotel. Declan and Cecilia were amazing hosts, from warmly greeting us upon our arrival to providing an amazing breakfast each morning. We had a delicious dinner at the restaurant the first night. Our room was large and clean. On our full day in Doolin, we took the ferry to the Aran Islands and Cliffs of Moher - had a great day! The only negative is that we should have stayed another night or two at their hotel because of how relaxing it was.
