Hotel Riu Bambu - All Inclusive

we enjoy our stay and been thinking to return this hotel but only night time always something happened someone drunk knock in the door another night very loud people back to the villa another night fire alarm sooo i thinking we are not back to this resort only becouse i want to sleep at night

This is by far one of best hotels we have stayed in so relaxing lovely staff good food & drink clean ,room was nice kept clean, beach was nice very friendly guests made lots of new friends booked for newer for 2 wks taking eldest daughter, really looking forward to go back thanks for a great stay ,cheers Julian

I could tell that this property is one of the older properties. So I won't rate it really really bad. However, I did not like that there were several issues going on with our room (6035). Not sure if previous visitors brought these issues to anyone's attention or not and they just weren't handled. But I was very disappointed to find that our air condition vent was leaking. We had to put a bucket underneath to collect the water. Our sliding patio screendoor was broken. The drain in the shower kept collecting water like it may have been clogged or something. We never got any washcloths. We only got the big bath towels and hand towels. And last but not least, the phone on the nighstand wasn't working. There was no dial tone at all. Just a dead phone sitting on the nightstand. Otherwise, our stay was ok. Just didn't expect to walk into a room with so many issues that should have already been rectified.

My girlfriend and I spent 7 days at this resort, the first thing I noticed when we arrived was the cleanliness and high quality of service from everyone working at this resort. The food was outstanding, with an amazing selection everyday! All the staff were extremely pleasant and in particular the 2 bartenders at the swim up bar, Rammuel and Johnny were awesome! They were always happy and engaging with people, they take pride in their work and have fun while doing it! They made the trip even more fun! Our room was cleaned everyday and the quality of cleaning was top notch everytime! The 1 and only downside is noticed was that our smoke alarm would go off 3 or 4 times every morning for a few minutes which was pretty annoying but I'm unsure if that was due to a smoke alarm fault or if someone was smoking in their room at 8am and setting them off. This seemed to only happen in building 28 but honestly not that big of a deal! I will 100% come back to the DR and this resort will be a high contender to return to!

We decided to go ahead and stay at Riu Bambú, and to be honest, I was a bit concerned after reading so many reviews. However, as soon as we arrived, it was obvious that people tend to complain about trivial things. The hotel is massive and shares the water park, Riu Party area, casino, and 24hour doctor with the other Riu hotels. The rooms were spacious enough, bed was confy and the shower always had hot water. I had to ask for some blankets as I always feel cold when sleeping and the bed had no duvets, and after 5min the staff brought not one but two blankets (happy days). Everything was clean, and the water bottles were consistently replaced (we don’t drink so cannot give an opinion about the free bar in the bedrooms). There are a few minor issues they could fix in the rooms, such as the mosquito net door not opening properly, but it’s nothing that would put me off returning. The beach location was spot on!!!I would say one of the best among the many nearby resorts. If you travel with TUI, you also get access to a TUI guest-only swimming pool and beach area, which is a nice touch. All the staff were incredibly cheerful and friendly. The pools were excellent, although the entertainment could be improved. I think more live shows or bands would make a difference. I really liked that the themed restaurants operate on a first-come, first-served basis rather than a booking system, as it gives everyone a fair chance to try them. We went to the steakhouse and the Kulinarium gourmet restaurant; both were good but didn’t exceed our expectations. We also tried the poolside buffet, but it had fewer options than the main Colonial buffet. My only suggestion would be to offer more fish dishes, as there were very few and often the same ones each day, and to include more homemade desserts instead of the small cakes. Overall, the food was decent nothing outstanding (the stews were very good!) but not nearly as bad as many reviews suggest. It was a very pleasant stay. And for those complaining about ants and cockroaches,you are in a tropical country! 😂 If you don’t like that, it’s probably not the destination for you. But it’s certainly not a reason to leave a one-star review.

The food was fine. The room was fine. Beach and water were amazing. Good drinks. Room was loud from hallway noise. Ground floor room and sliding door was left unlocked a couple of times after cleaning.

By far the best Hotel Riu I have been to so far. Nice resort with white-sand beach and splash waterpark Lots of choices for the food.

My room phone hasn’t worked since I arrived two days ago. This is very common here. I’ve spoken to many other people with the same issue. I’m concerned that if my partner or I myself had an emergency we would not be able to get help. It seems to be the company’s intention for us to use the Riu app and not the phone. The app is not easy to use always kicking you out making you sign back in and it’s a convoluted affair. I’ve been here two nights two days. No matter how much I request assistance I’m not getting it. I have to say dining room service and cleanliness are excellent but front desk management, I’m sorry it’s just unacceptable here. There are several buildings with rooms. It all feels like student residence. It’s just as noisy as any student residence I’ve ever seen. You hear every shower every toilet - air-conditioning and fridge are noisy. Presently we are bombarded with fire alarms. The whole lobby is out of control. It’s 12:10 AM on Monday, March 23. No one is getting any sleep tonight apparently it cannot be fixed until tomorrow. I feel sorry for families with children. I have photos of the front desk and the crowd of people shouting at the staff, but I don’t want to breach confidentiality by posting them without their permission and it’s too many people to ask.

Travelled as a family with kids. Stayed for 1 week. I like reviews by section, so here’s mine the way I’d want to read it: 🍽️ Food Great with lots of options — steakhouse, sushi bar, buffet. We never went hungry and had zero stomach issues, which was important for us. Tip: Try to go a bit earlier to avoid lines at specialty restaurants. 🛏️ Rooms Older but clean and well maintained. Beds are definitely on the firm side — if that bothers you, take note. That said, after a full day in the sun, we slept fine. 🌴 Grounds Immaculate. Constantly being cleaned and maintained — one of the highlights of the resort. 💦 Waterpark About a 5-minute walk up the main drive. Never too busy and the kids absolutely loved it. Tip: Bring sandals — pavement gets hot. 🏖️ Beach Beautiful, classic Punta Cana beach. Plenty of space and no issues finding chairs. 🙋 Service I’d describe it as solid but not over-the-top. Staff aren’t pushy and not overly tip-driven, which we actually preferred. No issues, just not “luxury-level” service. 🥤 Drinks Pepsi products, lemonade, fruit punch, plus frozen drinks. Everything we had was good. We don’t drink alcohol, so can’t comment there. ⚠️ Things to be aware of Beds are firm Rooms are a bit dated Not a high-end/luxury resort ⭐ Overall We really enjoyed our stay. Honestly, not sure why some of the negative reviews — as long as you come in with the right expectations, this resort delivers great value. Coming from travelling to Cuba the last few years, this was a big step up and well worth the money.

Garbage, trash, horrible stay, this place is terrible. They don't know nothing, everything is broken and worst they don't have managers or supervisors to help people out, I've stayed in some bad hotels but this takes the cake. The safe box doesn't work they had sent someone over to fix it, and look at the beds that we got, for a couple on their honeymoon
