Clarion Hotel & Suites Fairbanks near Ft Wainwright

Nice sized room but missing a sofa. Would have been nice to relax on a sofa vs the bed. Also a bigger tv would be beneficial!

They had no heaters - yes in Fairbanks! She told me “just turn off the AC and wait for the room to heat up”. Plus, the shower had no hot water - it was hardly warm. The trashcan had flies. The hotel itself is pretty worn out too. Would not recommend it for more than a few hours sod sleep.

While the hotel facility is a bit dated, we had a good 2 day stay. It had everything we needed: Decent sized rooms with everything in working condition, an exercise room with updated equipment, self-service credit card operated guest laundry, large common areas, ample parking and an efficient location. On top of it, the staff were very welcoming and accommodating.

The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was basic economy hotel/motel quality. The rest of the property was run down and grungy. The staff was fairly hapless. The hotel was next to a busy expressway. Easy walk to downtown.

The property is not worth for your dollars. The property is a very old property with lot of broken interiors. I booked a room with kitchenntte. The kitchen is useless and you have to have a very strong patience to cook any food. The stove takes for ever to heat or cook your food. The bathrooms are very old with lot of broken fixtures. You have to call reception for every single need. The AC unit is a very low quality unit. The doors were getting jammed and unable to open. If you have an old age person in this room they is a very good chance they might get stuck inside. The showers were very old and the water from the cold/ heat water was either too hot or too cold. In a nutshell this hotel is not worth for 3 star. I can give a 1 star rating.

Very comfortable beds and spacious room. All amenities were present. Free hot drinks available in reception 24 hours/day. Good complimentary breakfast. Beds not made daily and bed linen and towels not changed due to staff shortages. Rooms are only cleaned every 4 days. This wasn’t a problem for us as we only had a 2 night stay.

There wasn't curtain in my shower to avoid spilling the water in the bathroom.

Room was big and clean. Breakfast was reasonable. Staff were helpful and kind. Booked this hotel as it was one of the hotels on the list for pick up and drop off for Arctic Circle trip. Had dinner in bar, which was reasonable price, big portion and tasty. Nice beer on tap too

A bit noisy as some other guest were up till morning hours. Traffic was also heard in the room. They took 600 dollars for damage deposit, which I went to ask about ( should be 200 ). Apparently it sometimes happen and it will sort itself out. Next day, it was 400 dollars deposit..what? Unhappy with this.
