Courtyard by Marriott Santa Barbara Downtown

I travel every other week for work and stay at Courtyards. This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had at any hotel let alone a courtyard by Marriott. I was traveling all day and checked in and just wanted to take a shower, the shower wouldn’t get hot, I called the front desk and they sent a maintenance man and he said it was all fixed and I took his word for it. I went to my dinner meeting and came back ready to shower and sleep. The shower was not fixed at all and the shower itself was disgusting. I took a cold shower and went to bed just to be ripped out of my sleep by the loudest fire alarm I’ve ever heard that kept going off periodically throughout the night/early morning. I missed my first meeting this morning because I over slept, I had to call the front desk for a later check out and Victor (I think was his name) sounded pretty annoyed with me for the request. For someone who stays at Courtyards numerous times a month and whose family is a Bonvoy Platinum member, I was treated horribly. I am going to give Hilton’s a try for myself as well as my whole company from now on. Should also mention there was no coffee in the morning on top of the sleepless night. I was room 166 so maybe they should tell the maintenance guy to go do his job and not lie to the paying customer. Note I was also told twice that a manager would reach out to me to handle a reimbursement but that never happened. Do not stay here.

From the moment we arrived, we felt truly welcomed at the Marriott Courtyard Santa Barbara Downtown. As a Titanium Elite member, I was especially impressed with the warm reception we received. Fernanda, who assisted us, went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. The hotel itself is fantastic—spotlessly clean, well-maintained, and absolutely art deco charming. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with beds that make it hard to leave in the morning! We loved the pool and bar area, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The location couldn’t be better—within walking distance to amazing coffee shops, restaurants, and shops. Plus, the beach is just a short Uber ride away. There’s no shortage of places to eat, drink, and shop, making it a prime spot for both relaxation and adventure. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend this property to anyone visiting Santa Barbara. It truly checks all the boxes for an unforgettable stay!

I liked how close it was to the downtown area on State street. The hotel feels updated and the room we booked was spacious and clean. The service was also really good when we needed services.

The first night we were there when we woke up there was major construction at around 7am. Super loud and would have appreciated a heads up if that were the case or some ear plugs.

the staff definitely treated different people differently ... the single woman was treated differently than the business man. Someone needs to remind them .... they never know who they are taking care of.

Over all good experience for a last minute trip with my family.

One of the building is an outdated motel. You don’t know which building you are in until you get the key. Not even close to 3-star hotel. Really noisy. Room smells like chemicals. Not worth the price

The only thing they didn't bother to tell me about at check-in was the $30.00 per day self parking fee. a little annoying.
