Oceanside, CA – Marina / Camp Pendleton

Close enough to pier beach for the price.

Waited over 30 min in lobby to check-in because staff was taking their lunch break. Room had either bed bugs or spider. Suffered large bite and became sick 2 -3 days later. Room moldy and damp.

There was no breakfast provided, the only thing I liked was that pets are allowed.

Did not get the room requested, king ground floor, instead I got two queens on the third floor. Difficult with limited walking. Somebody needs to pickup the dog dropping

Our room didn’t have a microwave or iron and water pressure was horrible. The bed was itchy and it smelled like wet dog There was a sewing needle sticking out of the bed and it pooled me We went to the front desk about all our concerns and they said they were fully booked and couldn’t do anything about it

The roof leaked water so many code violations that it’s not even habitable and the room had trash stuffed in corners the sheets were not clean as they had stains on them not to mention all the drug use in the parking lot all night and the staff was not very friendly when checking in or when letting them know about our concerns

The room and bathroom were both very large. Very clean. Recently renovated and some building works still going on at the property.

Our room backed on to the cleaners room and laundry, the washing machine/dryer was right behind the bed so that was a tad annoying. It did not go on all night though. Which was pleasant. Sadly there were a number of homeless around the property, however we felt safe. Staff on check in were just ok. Not overly helpful or happy. No early check in, which is fine, but there also didn’t seem to be any willingness to look into an opportunity. It was clear I’d travelled from overseas and I’ve never had check in staff be less helpful. But I also appreciate early check in isn’t a given.
