Hotel Soleil La Antigua

Absolutely top class hotel in Antigua. We stayed here for one night, and from the moment we walked in the service was incredible. The front desk staff were very welcoming, spoke perfect English and we were able to check in nearly 2 hours early since the room was ready. The room was huge, well appointed and extremely comfortable. Compared to a smaller, similarly priced hotel in the centre (only a ten minute walk away) we stayed in previous days, the difference was night and day. Thanks to the Hotels.com membership scheme, we also got 20% off massages, food and drink. The Thai massages were fantastic, and just what we needed after hiking Acatenango. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Antigua!

The location of the property was great. We were able to walk to the various restaurants that we wanted to go to.

A lot of noise . they were doing construction work in the pool. Also the people in The second floor were making a lot of noise in the middle of the nite. We couldn’t use the pool, that’s was so sad . Overall. Was average😏😔

Quiet night but the toilet smelled bad and the staff was painting walls and the smell was way too strong for a while. The pool was not working and the breakfast buffet was not as good

We had a great time at Hotel Soleil. The experience was better than expected, the pools are great, service as well. Breakfast buffet was good and plenty of choice. Staff was nice and the rooms were clean. Loved the parrots and the grounds were beautiful. The kids loved the animation team on the weekend, as well as the trampoline. The adults enjoyed karaoke night at the bar. Only thing I didn't really understand is that we only got coffee in our room on the first night. That seems out of the ordinary for a hotel that has a coffee maker in the room. Otherwise we had a great time.

The staff was great overall, very professional and attentive. For the price, we weren't too happy about the following few inconveniences: - Ice machine was always broken - Bath leaked (no bath tub, just a glass door that didn't contain all the water when showering causing the water to leak into the entrance of the room) - Kidney pool was under maintenance (ok, since the semi-olympic pool was open. - They give you a bracelet to wear for no real reason because they require you to bring this flimsy piece of paper to the pools and sauna to rent towels, not sure what the purpose of wearing this bracelet is) - Gym is fine, it's what you'd expect at a hotel (dumbells to 50lbs, no pull up bar, small, mostly cardio machines) - Sauna wasn't hot enough

The place is beautiful and you can see the Volcano de Agua clearly. The facilities in general are lovely with a colonial touch to the place. However, it has the problem that the pools don't work, and the reception service is bad. They didn't even greet us upon arrival, and there was no one in the parking lot when we got to the hotel. It took a long time to get our room, and even though they saw that my mom is disabled, they gave us rooms that were very far away, and walking is difficult for her. The place lacks staff because it's very big, and for example, the room service took a long time. The gym is small, and one of the jacuzzis wasn’t working. The restaurant has good customer service, but the buffet is very limited, and I don’t understand why they gave me water bottles and then charged me for them afterward. For a 5-star hotel, it leaves a lot to be desired.
