Mercure Alice Springs Resort

I spent here just a night (fortunately) and it was a nightmare. I and my wife arrived at 9 pm very tired after a long trip. Entering the hotel we see a giant spider net close to the sign and it was already a signal...in fact we get in our room and we find a nice cockroach welcoming us on the sink of the bathroom! I try to call the reception but phone doesn't work so I personally go there and after having pushed many times i obtain a different room. We enter the new room and we discover a little cemetery of insects right behind the door, standing there probably since months before. So i go back to reception and the manager comes with us and she cleans by herself with some toilet paper. At that point we decide to spend anyway the night there since It is late to find something else, sleeping with and open eye all night long. And to have and happy ending, when we checkout the lady at the reception says that the bill is not payed, while everything was already payed by our travel agency, as verified the night before by her colleague. After having argued with her and having showed the receipt of my travel agency we are free to go to the Airport. Good bye Mercure Alice Springs Resort, see you never in my life. People, please don t go there

the room was nice and quiet and a good size

Bed was really hard and not very comfortable

As always mecure hotels are up to standard

Flaking paint on the ceiling and room service food options were a little bit disappointing but otherwise all good

Bed was very comfortable and nice clean bedding. Decent size room and quiet. Location is good, however a little far if you need to walk into town at night.

Room was surface level clean but does need a deep clean every so often. For example the bathroom door and skirting was a little dirty as were the windows sills. The restaurant was average especially the dinner meal- seems hit and miss.

Enjoyed the restaurant for both lunch and dinner. Good menu and choice of continental and full breakfast.

As an elderly couple we were allocated a room at the very far end of a long hallway. The hotel was not heavily booked so rooms nearer the office area would have been appreciated.
