I moved into this hotel this July after having stayed here for a month 10 years ago when I was moved to the area for a new position. I stayed while searching for an apartment, and it is a great now as it was then. The staff were really generous with their information about the area, showing where was safe to live and where wasn't.
This year, knowing I'd be staying for a few months while looking for a new apartment, I booked and prepaid several months in advance. I came by with a friend to take a look at the room a week before. Bryan and Dora were both very accommodating and showed me a room similar to the one I booked. The unit was clean, spacious and exactly what I needed.
I moved in and there were a couple of hiccups with the rooms I was assigned, but Angela and Bryan were very helpful, moving me as necessary when there were electrical issues with the first room, and then when I wanted to upgrade to the marina view (WELL worth it for a nominal extra cost). Unfortunately that room's water pressure was non-existent, and who ever was booked above me sounded like they were training for Michael Flatley's Riverdance at all hours of the day and night. This made concentrating and resting in the room nearly impossible, but when I told Angela she fixed it right away and moved me to the top floor.
Everyone who works here has been fantastic. They've helped me with anything I've needed (coffee maker, toilet paper, extra towels) and also been very conscientious about security. Sometimes I've woken up in the night and wanted to walk outside, and the night manager Jay is always here to make sure everything's safe and alert me if there may be some concerning people (non-hotel guests) outside. For the most part the hotel guests are very polite and conscientious but on the few occasions some have acted a little off, the front desk staff has always been very sweet and explain the other guests were acting odd and I hadn't done anything wrong (sometimes the other guests have been intoxicated or just rude).
The housekeeping staff, particularly Lucia and Bebe, have been understanding of the fact that I've rearranged my room to be more efficient for me, and they have always been more than happy to clean around the new arrangement - by the way with a few small tweaks I have been able to fit a significant amount of my belongings, including extra toiletries and food, quite well into my room without feeling crowded. In addition there is an Extra-Space storage right next door where you can easily rent a space for furniture / extra stuff. I managed to empty a 2 bedroom apartment into a small storage unit, and all of my clothes / food / and extra toiletries into my room at Extended Stay - this is IDEAL for a temporary place to stay while trying to navigate the Bay Area's INSANE rental market.
The room itself is just that, it's a functional room with a couple of cook tops and a microwave. I and other guests have brought our own air fryers / toaster ovens, and that's made a significant improvement in the amount of stuff I can cook here. I also brought a few other appliances (panini grill, immersion blender, instant pot) which have also helped, but I cook a lot. There are tons of great restaurants (Yo Sushi, Xing Yuan Chinese, Chipotle, Firehouse Subs) all within walking distance / a short drive, as well as Target, Safeway, Grocery Outlet, and Lucky Supermarket, so many, many options for quick / cheap meals.
The most important part is the safety factor, and that's super important as a small woman living alone. I feel completely confident that all of the front desk staff (Tengis, Manjill, Bryan, Angela, Jay, Dora) as well as the housekeeping staff (Lucia, Bebe, the maintenance guys and the others whose names I never got) would come and check if they hadn't seen me for a bit - not in a nosy way, but in an "are you ok?" way. They know that I intern in a sketchy area a couple of times a week in an emotionally trying position, and genuinely seem to care about my comfort and safety, so always ask if I am ok, especially when I come home with a sad look. It's like having a great set of neighbors who really care about how you are. I've stayed in several Extended Stays over the years, in multiple metropolitan areas, but this is the one I would always recommend above all.
Last but not least, the view is phenomenal. This is the view from my room. The level of peace a view like this can give is unmatched.
