Holiday Inn Express & Suites Alliance by IHG

I was greeted with a smile and assisted quickly. My room was ready and I was offered information about dining options in the area.

Friendly staff, yummy breakfast, fair price!

Property was very dirty. Shelf when I walked into our room had an inch of dust on it. Stains on the carpet, dirty socks under the bed Bathtub wouldn’t drain. No one at front desk to help. Exercise room out of order. No ironing board or iron in the room. Very disappointing Would not recommend this property.

Our stay was fine but had noisy neighbors, which happens. Staff was great.

When we arrived we had to wait at the desk for about 15 minutes or more to recieve assistance checking in after ringing the bell. When the gentleman came to desk he was on the phone and walked past into the office to finish a phone call for 10 minutes without saying anything. He was friendly once he did help us. The room could have been cleaner and the water did t get hot for the shower. I had it turned all the way up on hot and it was barely luke warm, i did let the front desk know this when checking out.

The staff was very friendly, the room was clean. The breakfast omelets were very good. I was not happy eating and drinking from styrofoam, also the bagels were very old and were wrapped in plastic, just like the fruit. It was like eating at a gas station. We stay at IHG hotels frequently, mostly because we like the breakfasts there and we like the ambience, they should at least have paper plates available, we pay a premium price to be there.

This location has changed and not for the better. Updates were poorly done. No hot coffee 24/7 at the front like always before. When I asked about coffee i was told to use the pot in the room. It was filthy and had a coffee pod in it still from the person who stayed in the room before me. And the MOST disappointing thing was the breakfast. Our family travels a lot. We mainly stay Holiday Inn because of the breakfast. It has always been consistent. This holiday inn gives all the others a bad name. Nobody wants literal watered down sausage gravy. It is supposed to be gravy... not soup. And, the milk. Why am I pouring my milk out of nasty container that has been touched by everyone else... when did we get rid of the individual cartons? Whoever is running this one now is a joke. We travel to this location frequently to visit family. From now on we will completely avoid this hotel. I'd much rather drive through comfort inns horrible parking lot to stay there or deal with the crappy traffic in/out of the Hampton Inn than EVER stay at this holiday inn again.

Splitting my short trip between Canton and suburban Youngstown, I decided to stay in Alliance. Hotel is right on the main drag, easy to find. The entrance area is very plain and there are signs about doors being locked between certain hours, much longer than most. This gives me a bad thought of possible issues in the past. Checkin was fine and my IHG Platinum status was recognized. Upon walking to the elevator, I notice the pool is open but spa is under repair. This was not on the website so not very happy. Elevator very slow. It’s faster to run up the stairs. Second floor halls need a bit of cleaning. Room itself is a smaller typical HIE, nothing fancy. Good night’s sleep, weak shower pressure. Limited options at continental breakfast, not up to standard. Not worth the roughly $110 for the night, but I’ve been in a few that are worse.

The rooms were the highlight. Honestly, it was probably one of the best nights of sleep I’ve had away from home ever. Quality bedding.
