Middletons

The location was excellent. The gardens beautiful with a handful of deckchairs on the grass which enabled us to relax fully after a day of sightseeing, walking. Outside tables for eating, drinking appreciating the gorgeous weather we had. Room 3 was fabulous as no stairs to negotiate and it overlooked the gardens. Thankyou to the receptionist who suggested this room on check in. Was spotlessly clean and there was everything supplied you could need for your stay. Room service for cleaning, bed making etc has to be requested if required. The bed was very comfortable. You can request to eat in the hotel, book the day before. We had a very good full Yorkshire breakfast on my birthday and it was excellent value for money. Finally the staff were all friendly, we were made to feel welcome and relaxed from start to finish. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay and we would recommend a stay at Middletons to anybody.

We didn't eat in the restaurant for this visit. However on a previous visit we enjoyed both the tapas style evening meal and the breakfast.

Not keen on the TVs always being on in the main bar. However as nobody was in the area we asked for it to be turned off and this was done.

Hotel has nice grounds for sitting in when the weather is nice as it was and the inside bar area is nice as well.

No maid service. Apparently you have to scan a QR code if you want the maids to come and change your towels and bedding etc. I’m sorry but when staying in an any hotel, especially paying £200 a night this service should just be provided regardless. I was travelling with an elderly party, who even if had been told about this QR scanning, they wouldn’t have been able to do it anyway. No doubt the hotel will have some woke reason for this but let’s be honest it’s just another way of cutting g down on a device and making savings. This is the sole reason I would never stay at this hotel again when I visit York.

Excellent service from hotel team during our stay, very varied breakfast options including hot breakfasts cooked to order. Great location in York, just a few minutes walk from the centre.

Great hotel in a good location. Clean and comfortable, and the staff were terrific. I have already recommended it once since I left.

The staff are very welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. The room is also, very clean and comfortable. The finishing touches, with the little added extras are very nice too. I didn't have breakfast, but I had lunch very nice and plentiful. I definitely will be back. Thank you for a wonderful stay

Nothing to find fault with

Really was an excellent hotel! The location was perfect not too close to the hustle and bustle of the city centre, but only a stone’s throw away.

Only that for some reason the gym didn’t open until 9am on a bank holiday Monday. But it’s a personal thing, would stop me booking again though.
