Americas Best Value Inn North Platte

Hotel was ok. Pool was empty. The shower was gross, black mildew between all the tiles. Shower head was so high I was only able to hit the face and it could not be adjusted. No chain or secondary lock. Carpet was dirty. Bed was comfortable.

The front desk was friendly and helpful. I am uncertain the last time they exterminated the rooms. I felt I was bitten several times by bugs. That said, the area/town is buggy overall, especially near the stables. I could easily have brought some of those outdoors bugs into my room. So, I cannot explicitly state the room was infested. I'd bring a purple fogger just in case you bring bugs into the room. The town is bug-gy!

This older property is well maintained and very clean. I especially appreciated the hot water and updated shower head. Thank you!

If you like retro motels, then you might like this one. It had some cool quirks like the metal kleenex box on the bathroom wall (no kleenex in it though), and classic diamond-shaped motel key. Otherwise, Travelocity reviews and recommendations were way overblown. We only needed it for a 1-night stopover, and for that it was fine. It had a small, working refrigerator and microwave, which we needed . The room was clean, but there was a strong odor. Curtains were broken so it was hard to open/close them. The pool was not working or even filled, and the continental breakfast was pretty meager. Plain oatmeal packets and nothing to put in them. Flavored oatmeal costs the same as plain. Or else provide some cinnamon, brown sugar, fruit and/or nuts. Some hard-boiled eggs are also an easy option. No decaf coffee options either in the room or at the breakfast. Couldn't print me a receipt either for some reason I couldn't understand due to limited English proficiency of one of the owners.

The staff was kind and helpful. The property is definitely very dated and a bit dinghy. It felt safe here and had no issues parked for the night. Cereal, bagels oatmeal for breakfast. Working ice machine. Pool is not functional as mentioned by others. Overall the place wasn’t horrible just worn out to others I’ve been to recently in a similar bracket. But fine for a quick one night stay if you’re not picky and staff was nice for sure.
