The stay here was not what I and my boyfriend thought it was going to be. We got the room for valentines weekend. During check in... the energy seemed off from the clerk, from the beginning. After getting told there was a $100 dollar deposit.... wasn't happy but, cool. I know we will get that back. After seeing the pool, and then the jacuzzi was boarded up. Vending machine literally empty. And the icing on the cake was. While we were checking in. I looked to my left, due to a man walking up. That man ended up being a doordasher. You say... ok, and. Well, he ended up being the one to deliver our "continental breakfast" all i see in the bags sitting on the counter is... milk, eggs, muffins all in bags. Like are yall serious?! So we decided to check out on the 14th before 8:00am. We did not stay our friday-sunday as planned. We left and drove to Des Moines and stayed at a far more messed up wyndham associated hotel. My point in telling this part, was to show we left Saturday before regular check-out time. And here posting this. We still have not gotten ANY of our money back. Please DO NOT BOOK A STAY HERE!!!!!!.

Place smelled of pot/weed. They charged $100 security deposit to my cc that is going to take 1-7 days to be refunded!!! This fee was not advertised to me at the time of booking. They will charge you if you smoke in the rooms!...kinda like I should be charging them for the pot smells in the hallways I walked to my room! Unless you're into smoking pot, I do not recommend staying at this location

I recently stayed at AmericInn in Coralville and had a really comfortable experience. The hotel was clean, quiet, and conveniently located near I-80, which made it easy to get around. It’s also close to Coral Ridge Mall and several restaurants, so grabbing dinner or doing a little shopping was super convenient. The room was spacious and well-maintained, with a comfortable bed and plenty of pillows. I appreciated the little touches like the fridge and microwave, which made the stay feel more convenient. The staff was friendly and welcoming from check-in to check-out, and they were happy to answer questions about the area. Breakfast in the morning had a good variety — hot items, cereal, pastries, and coffee — and everything was fresh and well-stocked. Overall, it was a solid stay for the price. I’d definitely consider staying here again if I’m back in the Coralville area.

The staff was the only good thing about this stay.

I had to change rooms due to damage in my first room. The elevator didn’t work after they moved me to the second floor. Minor damage was noted in the second room but the tv didn’t fully work. The staff offered to move me again but it was already evening and I didn’t feel like getting moved again so I told them I would just put up with the tv.
