Residence Inn by Marriott Olathe Kansas City

Property was nice inside. Single entrance door into lobby from parking was way to small. Snow wasnt removed from sidewalks, card readers at some exterior doors didn't work. Room was nice and clean

Pool was a key in our choice of stays but found out it was closed upon arrival. Nonrefundable by bookings.com. tried to call anyway but over 30 min wait time. Toilet and tub both backed up. Someone elses hair in the shower. Had to ask for sheets, pillows, towels even tho room was rented for 4, meaning one bed and a hide a bed that we had to make. Staff very nice but a very disappointing night out with grandkids that had hoped to swim.

I love my Residence Inn stays but this one started off bad. I got my key and entered the room and the smell nearly knocked me off my feet. I began searching for the source and finally discovered that the maid had failed to empty the trash under the sink which was filled with now putrid rotting take-out food. I returned the keycards to the desk and was given another room which was more satisfactory but still not up to the usual Residence Inn standards. I have stayed at another Residence Inn in Olatha which was far superior and will stay there the next time I visit my daughter and grandchildren. This one seems old and in need of renovation.

Check in was easy and the receptionist was friendly. Rooms were dingy and outdated. Bed was comfortable. Housekeeping tried To get into our room 3 times before checkout. but the extra security lock stopped them

The rooms were clean but a little outdated and worn. The room was nice for my family.

We stayed here for a soccer tournament on Friday November 6th thru Sunday November 8th. Upon arrival, we were not informed about the change in the breakfast options and had not planned on bringing extra food to make up for the muffin, apple, and bottle of water for that was offered in a bag. I completely understand covid and the need for a change but would have appreciated being told this at check in. We had a 2 bedroom suite and the hvac was not working correctly when we arrived. We asked for someone to come and look at it. It took 5 hours for the maintenance man to come and he was still working at 10:15pm. We had children that needing to be sleeping but were unable to. The pull out sofa did not have bedding in the room. Guess we were to call and ask for it but was not told that at check in. The sink was clogged and we asked for that to be fixed while we were away from the room. We came back and the sink was not fixed. Plus tools were left on the sink. Very poor customer service when we asked for someone to look at it again. We were told they had fixed it and it was handled. The housekeeping staff doesn’t come into rooms so no towels are changed or trash taken out. For the price of the room, these should have been taken care of somehow. I have never had an experience like this at a Residence Inn. I expected a much better stay than what was provided. When we informed the front desk of our feelings, we were told they could only take $40 off our bill. Very disappointing.

Employees were very friendly and accommodating. Only complaint is that some things were needing cleaning and/or updating (i.e. the laundry room was filthy, things all over/dryer in need of repair). Also garbage attention could have been better. Since covid they do not have daily room service so people just leave their garbage at their door or by the elevator garbage on floor... I noticed several times the same bags of garbage sat for a day or more. I would still go back here though.

I selected this hotel specifically because of prior recommendations and access to a pool and hot tub due to the type of trip. The pool area was horribly maintained, the hot tub was broken, room service did not enter our room at any point leaving us to ask for supplies and a place to put our trash. The location was extremely convenient but that’s about the only positive I have about this property.

This was our first experience with Residence Inns. As the name implies, a home away from home...lots of space and a furnished kitchen. We were pleasantly surprised! The only disappointment was we felt like Covid-19 was an excuse for a very basic "grab-and-go" breakfast. We were at another motel that had a person behind a table that let us choose items from behind them to take on a tray to our room.

Awesome receptionist, beautiful and clean, quiet and comfortable spacious room... more than expected and kitchen items included was a surprise.
