Hilton Garden Inn McAllen Airport

I’m willing to admit that I am biased as a long time Hilton Honors Diamond member that has stayed at this hotel multiple times over the last several months. Each time I have been treated with respect and most importantly, appreciation. I’m sure that even if I wasn’t a Diamond member I would still be treated with the same respect. Joe is easily the hardest working GM I’ve ever met. And of course this work ethic translates to the rest of the team. Room condition and cleanliness are on point as you would expect for a Hilton Brand hotel. Thank you to Hector and Rico at the desk for the best of care when it came to my numerous requests. Overall the property is pretty old and in need of repairs. I stayed here in two separate occasions on April 12 for an overnight business trip and April 27-29 for a short business trip. The first experience (April 12, 2026; room 310) I had here was not good. Lots of beat up furniture, peeing paint, stained curtains, dirty bathtub and random body hair on fresh towels from when I just walked into the room. I just sucked it up and stayed in my room because I was in it for less than 12 hours anyways. The second experience (April 27-29, 2026; room 324) was a bit different but oddly similar at the same time. I had to message the Hilton text chat to see why my room wasn't ready after the check in window had gone. They told me the room I requested had mechanical issues and needed to be repaired, but they didn't once tell me about that or reach out to me to change my rooms. I had check in on the app already and requested my digital room key to skip the counter like always since I usually come in late. Luckily, the agent was able to assist and get me a new room and I had my digital key within 15mins even though I was still an hour away. I got here and got to my floor to hear a dog bark a few doors down from me... that wasn't too big of an issue this time the room was actually pretty decently cleaned (I only got pictures of before I was leaving so it's lived in right now. Those are the photos I posted to this review.) The room was much more tolerable in terms of cleanliness. Now the thing was I don't know what was going on next door, but it sounded like construction in the next morning early too. It woke me up and I tried to go back to bed but ended up just going to work. When I was leaving my room I saw there was a utility cart in the hallway so it had to be construction and not guests. Then I walk in and there is a nail on the floor by my door. I Will say the best part about this hotel was the staff both on the property and through the text message line. They were attentive, apologetic, and overall not a brick wall! It was nice to see people solve issues and respond so fast! They also had water in the room already! That's a win in my book

I’ve stayed at several hiltons across the country over the years but this location is hands down the best I’ve experienced. Everything from the welcoming holiday decorations in the lobby to the clean rooms to the incredible breakfast unique to this location was above par and more in line with a vacation resort. Yolanda was incredible. She greeted everyone walking through the doors as her most valued guests and VIPs. She ensured all was handled for our group and checked in with us throughout the week. Front desk staff (Hector) was helpful & welcoming even in very early hours and breakfast staff (Luis) helped us as if we were fine dining at a Michelin 4 star establishment. Housekeeping was amazing and their attention to detail was impeccable. I’ll never stay anywhere else when in the Valley.

Yoli and the staff here are amazing. They treat each and every guest like they are family. Every single staff member we encountered was friendly and attentive. They went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable during our extended stay. We were in town under difficult circumstances and the staff went out of their way to connect with us and ensure we had everything we needed. We were even greeted with a personalized goody basket from Yoli, the sales director. The location is excellent. It is close to the airport, great restaurants, shopping, etc. Poncho's, a restaurant who shares the same parking lot as the Garden Inn, is a special place and partners with the Garden Inn. We ate there several times in one week. The Garden Inn facilities are clean, well maintained, and beautiful. As I understand it, they will be renovated soon. I look forward to coming back and seeing it. The breakfast is amazing. Try the specials. They are very unique to the Rio Grande Valley and not your typical hotel breakfast. My favorite was the chorizo omlette with homemade salsa! It was to die for! I cannot wait to return to the valley and I would never consider staying anywhere else. This staff and location is so head and shoulders above the rest, they will earn your repeat business. I guarantee it.

We recently stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn, and our experience was truly wonderful-largely thanks to Yolanda Garcia, who went above and beyond for our family. From the moment we arrived, Yolanda made us feel welcomed, cared for, and completely at ease. She was attentive, thoughtful, and genuinely kind in every interaction. During a time when our family needed extra support and comfort, she showed us so much compassion and grace, and it did not go unnoticed. The hotel itself was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, but what truly set this stay apart was the level of service we received from Yolanda. She anticipated our needs, handled everything seamlessly, and made a difficult time feel a little bit lighter. It’s rare to come across someone who is not only excellent at their job but also so sincerely caring. Yolanda is an incredible asset to the Hilton Garden Inn, and we are so grateful for everything she did for us. We will absolutely be returning and highly recommend this location to anyone looking for both comfort and exceptional hospitality.
