"Disaster room and left stranded at the airport"

My family (4 adults and 2 children under 2) stayed at the Residence Inn on 09/09/2025. We chose this hotel because of its extended parking option, as we were flying from Dallas to Hawaii. We used the hotel shuttle to get to the airport and left our cars parked on-site until 7 AM on 09/18/2025. Room Condition & Cleanliness Upon check in, the front desk informed us that the TV in our room was not working. They offered a significant discount for the inconvenience, which I accepted. While the room appeared clean on the surface, almost as if it had been cleaned just for us, it was in poor condition overall: * Broken door knobs * Towel racks hanging off the walls * Missing parts from the coffee maker * Microwave that didn’t heat food * A dangling fireplace handle * A roach sighting on the morning of checkout (see attached photos) It honestly felt like we were given a room that’s not normally rented out. While the discounted price made sense, the state of disrepair was still disappointing. Breakfast & Shuttle (Outbound) On a positive note, the complimentary breakfast was excellent — one of the best I’ve had at a hotel of this type. Additionally, the shuttle service to the airport on the morning of our departure was smooth, and the driver was fantastic. Shuttle (Return) – Major Issue Unfortunately, the biggest issue occurred on our return. After an 8 hour flight, we arrived at DFW around 6 AM on 09/18/2025. The hotel advises guests to call for the shuttle upon arrival. Between 06:10 and 06:23, I called the hotel nine times. I was hung up on three times, and during those calls, I could hear hotel staff in the background, they picked up and immediately disconnected the call without saying anything. With no one coming to pick us up, we had no choice but to take an Uber back to the hotel. When we arrived, the front desk attendant denied everything and claimed he had been answering calls the entire time. However, I called the hotel in front of him at 06:44, and only then did he answer the phone. We confirmed the number was correct, it was listed on the corporate site, and even corporate verified it. Parking & Final Thoughts Thankfully, our vehicles were in good condition upon return. The hotel did refund us for our stay, which I appreciated. However, I would not recommend this location. I've stayed at over 10 Residence Inns across the country, even lived in one during college, and this was by far the worst experience. The room quality was poor, and the lack of accountability and professionalism from the staff, especially regarding the airport pickup, was unacceptable. I originally planned to give this hotel 2 stars for the low rate and decent breakfast, but the return experience left us stranded and soured the entire stay.

"Disappointing and I will NOT be back. Furthermore, we were overcharged!"

We had to move rooms since the room we were given had blood all over the 2nd bedroom in various places which we had to clean because we have toddlers. They offered to clean the other room that was soiled opposed to getting us another room immediately. The second room they gave us, the door lock kept getting stuck out so if you didn't pay attention the door wouldn't be closed all the way, and you would be subject to vandalism.

Our connection flight, among many other flights (due to weather) thru DFW, was canceled. It was after midnight with a line of people needing accommodations. The staff was very kind and courteous to help out. Breakfast was good and replenished often. The pool and room were clean. Thank you for the stay during our distressed situation.

Unfortunately, this was by far the worst hotel experience I’ve had — which is especially surprising and upsetting, given that I have always associated the Marriott brand with quality service. I was traveling with my family, including my 6-year-old child, and we were shocked at the level of negligence from the hotel staff. For the first two days, there was no housekeeping service provided at all. On the third day, we specifically requested cleaning, but upon returning to our room, we found it in the same condition — no garbage removed, no towels changed. We once again requested housekeeping on the fourth day, but the service was completely ignored again. What made the situation worse was the staff’s unapologetic attitude. When we raised our concerns, we were told bluntly that it didn’t matter even if we gave a bad review or rated them zero stars. This level of indifference and disrespect is unacceptable — especially from a hotel under the Marriott banner. We were left with no choice but to clean our own room and take out the garbage ourselves. We even had to go and ask for clean towels directly, which is far from what one should expect from a hotel stay. This experience left us feeling disrespected, saddened, and extremely disappointed. With a young child in tow, we were concerned about health and hygiene, and the lack of cleanliness put us under unnecessary stress during what was supposed to be a relaxing stay. I am seriously considering filing a formal complaint with Marriott corporate and would appreciate a prompt response and resolution to this matter.

"It was great, but there was some kinks to be worked out"

It seemed like a newer facility, was clean, staff was nice and accommodating.

We ended up having a late check in cause they were still cleaning, the fire alarm randomly went off, the elevators were disabled when we were leaving.
