"Could have been better."

The hotel is in a good location

The place is a bit run down. Carpet is old and dated. Pool bottom is in need of repair, virtually no seating in pool area.

I liked the location because it was very convenient to the shopping and activities in Helen.

I didn't like the fact that because I booked through booking.com, I did not get a call from the hotel or anyone else to let me know that my reservation had been cancelled and money refunded due to a burst water line in the hotel, making our stay there impossible. I didn't learn this until after I arrived at the hotel and discovered that it was closed. I called the number for the hotel and the staff was kind enough to inform me of the problem and that all reservations had been cancelled and patrons were notified. However she also informed me that if I booked through a 3rd party, it's possible I was not notified. Gotta say Booking.com let me down this time. I'll definitely think twice before using it or any other 3rd party site again to book a reservation.

The hotel was close to downtown. We were able to easily walk to nearby attractions and restaurants.
