Great place to visit with friends & family. Always a delight, any time of the year. The gardens are great in the summer months for alfresco drinks, snacks & chats.

My wife and I had a lovely night away in October. The location was spectacular, the room was everything we expected and the breakfast was superb. Although we had a minor issue, it has been dealt with by their Customer Service Manager, Alex, and I cannot fault the care and attention we have received. I highly recommend Tortworth Court if you want the experience of a luxurious night away.

Stayed overnight for the murder mystery evening. Had a great time, murder mystery was fun. The 3 course meal was delicious and the disco was fun. The room was lovely, very warm but lovely and huge. The breakfast in the morning was yummy and well needed. Had a lovely stay here and would return

We had a 2-course lunch which was superb. The 2 main course dishes were crispy chicken burger and pork cutlet. The 2 desserts were sticky toffee pudding and lemon meringue. The only slight disappointment was the meringue. Everything was excellent.

Stayed here for three nights for a wedding. We had very little information prior to our visit regarding parking for check in etc. it was dark on our arrival and we found it difficult to find any parking near to the entrance. So drove around numerous car parks looking for a space which we eventually found at the rear of the building. The main building is absolutely stunning and was beautifully decorated for the festive season. Reception staff were very welcoming and gave us our room numbers in the main building, briefly explaining which floor we were on. It was like a maze and we walked around a number of times before locating our rooms. The room was spacious, lovely comfy bed, tea and coffee making facilities, fridge, tv, hairdryer, iron, ironing board, fan, bath and shower, bath robes, toiletries, extra bath mat, safe. Our room had only one chair. No writing paper. General maintenance not so good, paintwork scratched and dirty, furniture surfaces scratched, windows opened in a fashion. Blotched paint on bathroom floor. Housekeeping not so good either. Cobwebs on the ceiling and light fitting, dirty paintwork, stained carpet. Replenishing of tea etc, bed making, emptying bins not done every day. Front of house team were exceptionally helpful, professional and eager to assist. Breakfast was plentiful and fresh, hot and cold options, cereals and pastries but no variation. Evening meal either in the dining room or the atrium. Both exceptional food, although the dining room adds a service charge to the bill. Not sure if they do in the atrium We didn’t get chance to see the grounds as the weather was too wet but I think the tree walk sounds interesting. Absolutely lovely place but I did expect a higher standard.

My main issue with our stay was with the customer service. We had an issue that was raised while staying at the hotel but nothing could be done about. I therefore wrote to the manager, Raphael Herzog, hoping for at least an apology. My email was not even acknowledged. I sent the same email to another email address at the hotel and again, no acknowledgement. I then received an email asking me to review my stay. As part of that review, I included the issue, hoping for a response. Five weeks later and I’ve still heard nothing. Once you’ve paid, stayed and left, they don’t seem very interested!

Sunday lunch to celebrate an anniversary. Wonderful service from Holly who organised a free dessert with a personalised message. We will return.

De Vere Tortworth Court Tortworth Lovely building and grounds, but room and reception let it down 1040563095 We stayed in a suite called “The Drawing Room.” Positives: • Beautiful, grand building with lovely grounds. • Very good breakfast with a great selection. • The room was spacious. Negatives: • The same staff member checked us in and out on reception — and unfortunately she was not friendly on either occasion. There was no warm welcome on arrival, and on departure we weren’t asked if we enjoyed our stay. • At checkout she insisted I hadn’t paid for the second night, even though I had. After checking, she realised she was mistaken but didn’t apologise. • The room needs some attention. The sofa had a large stain, only one window opened and it had a child lock so it opened only slightly, and none of the other windows opened at all. • Out of the two radiators, only one was working. • There was rubbish left in the room from a previous guest, and a thick layer of dust underneath the wardrobe, which shows cleaning needs to be improved. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but the reception experience needs improvement and the room maintenance and cleanliness should be better, especially for the price paid.

What a truly magnificent building - driving up like driving to a castle - room was really good - spacious - restaurant area was also great - a was breakfast - lovely part of England - staff also very helpful - was a real surprise

We visited a favourite hotel of ours again, we got married here in 2003, we were looked after by a wonderful Romanian lady for dinner and she was a wonder ( sorry bad with names and some lovely wine!) The staff were so sweet, we love it here and it’s a real treat, great venue, lovely kind staff and Beautiful setting. Thanks for more memories x
