Royal Hideaway Playacar All Inclusive - Adults only

We stayed at the Royal Hideaway Playacar from July 24-28, 2025, and everything was fabulous! My husband and I have never stayed at an adult only resort, but we will definitely be back. Each villa has a dedicated concierge. Our room was in Villa 22, and our concierge was Cipriano. He was wonderful! He anticipated our needs and helped us with things we didn’t know to ask him about! He made sure we had our dinner reservations set up for each evening, and reminded us to set up our transportation back to the airport when our stay was coming to an end. He gave us great recommendations, tips and tricks for our excursion to Cozumel. His advice definitely saved us from what could have been a frustrating situation. Every single staff member, from the check in staff, to the concierges, the event staff, the servers and hosts in the restaurants, the maintenance crews, and housekeeping staff were all so pleasant and always had smiles on their faces. No request was annoying to them, they just happily accommodated. We felt valued and taken care of from the moment we stepped onto the property until the very last second we were there. If you are someone who enjoys the big parties at other resorts, (the foam parties at the pool, the crazy contests, the loud music and flashing lights, guests drinking until getting hammered drunk, and dancing the night away), this might not be an enjoyable resort experience for you. The clientele are definitely an older, more mature crowd, but so much fun!

The property was beautiful and quiet and the staff was lovely.

Was given an unclean damaged room. Stated they couldn’t move me till the next day. Made me wait till after 3 pm the next day. Unacceptable.

I recently stayed at The Royal Hideaway in Playa del Carmen, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcomed and well taken care of. The resort itself is stunning tucked away in a peaceful, adults-only setting with beautifully maintained grounds, private beach access, and luxurious amenities throughout. The food and drinks were top-tier. Every restaurant on site offered a different culinary experience, and the service was consistently attentive and friendly. Whether we were lounging by the pool, enjoying dinner by the beach, or grabbing a drink at the bar, the team went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Our room was spacious, spotless, and beautifully designed, with a comfortable bed and a view that made it hard to leave. I also appreciated the little details like turndown service and daily restocking of the mini bar. The vibe at the resort is quiet, classy, and ideal for couples or anyone looking for a relaxing, all-inclusive getaway without the loud party scene. We left feeling refreshed and already planning our return. If you’re thinking about booking, do it you won’t regret it.

It’s a perfect mix of laid-back vibes and high-end comfort. **Service** I have to shout out the staff—they really made this trip special. Everyone was super friendly, always there when we needed something, but not in an overwhelming way. They make you feel like you’re their top priority without being too “in your face.” Special mention to the housekeeping team—our room was always spotless, and we loved the little surprises they’d leave each day (fresh flowers, chocolates, etc.). **Rooms** Our room was seriously beautiful. We had an ocean view, and waking up to that view every morning was amazing. The bed was super comfy, and the bathroom felt like a spa. Everything was really modern but still cozy, with little touches that made it feel personal. I couldn’t get enough of the balcony, perfect for watching the sunset! **Dining** The food here was next level! From breakfast to dinner, every meal was delicious. The seafood was so fresh (definitely a must-try), and they’ve got all kinds of options—Italian, Mexican, Mediterranean—whatever you’re in the mood for. The outdoor restaurants with ocean views were the best, and we loved trying the themed dinner nights. **Activities** There’s plenty to do here too. The pool area is great for just chilling, and if you’re up for something more Roberto and Carlos got you covered! All the staff on the activities team make sure you are having fun and treat you like family! **Overall** Honestly, we didn’t want to leave. The Royal Hideaway is one of those places where everything just works—great service, beautiful setting, amazing food, and tons of ways to relax or explore. Highly recommend it if you’re looking to treat yourself to a vacation that feels special but still super chill.

Resort for relax only, very quiet and nice place

The property is old, It is extremely necessary to fix some things, especially the bathrooms. Defective shower. The pools need more love and staff to take care of them. Only in one could the attention be seen.

The grounds are beautiful, our room was clean and spacious. Couldn’t get the shower to work consistently- temperature kept varying between extremely hot and cold, despite asking management to fix it twice. Food and service at Italian restaurant was excellent. Had a disappointing encounter with one member of staff in the restaurant at the beach ( which served breakfast and lunch) who was determined not to give me two spoons one day when I had ordered uber eats and wanted to eat in our room. Two spoons and he would not give them to me . After about an hour and having to go to the Mai desk, I got the two spoons for our now cold food. There is a bar there open most of the time called Allegria which has about as much atmosphere as the moon. They do afternoon tea in the main building which is nice. There are about 3 or 4 pools, 3 of which look like they have a hot pool, don’t be fooled, they’re not. The pools, however, are nice.

The food was not good at ALL! They lied and said they had numerous bars when there were only 2. This is more of a resort for 50+
