This hotel has a fantastic location right on the beach. There is a nice patio and terrace area with a pool and pretty dated playground that opens up right to the beach. The train station to Barcelona is a 10 minute walk away. The ride is about an hour and 20 minutes and trains are every half hour or so. The hotel itself is pretty dated. It looks like it was probably beautiful when it first opened, but it is definitely worn now. There is a large game/ bar room with live entertainment. The breakfast buffett is wonderful and has a good selection. This hotel caters mostly to groups. We didn't book our dinner when we booked the hotel. Apparently you have to book ahead of time to eat at the buffett. They still let us eat and pay seperately, but I think it is because we walked in with the rest of the groups and started to eat already. We tried to eat at other buffetts at the nearby hotels, but they wouldn't let us in because we weren't staying there. The boardwalk on the way to the train station has several good restaurant choices. I suggest going there. For the price, this was a phenomenal hotel. Dated for a four star, but honestly all of the hotels in this town looked dated.

I booked 20 ladies into this hotel but when we arrived thy said they did not know we were all one group and we had rooms scatter from 1st to 6th floor. I cannot understand this as they were all booked in my name. Also the price of drinks was way over the top. 8 euro for a Drambuie.

The Royal Sun is situated right on the beach at Santa Susanna so you have the choice of beach or pool. The hotel has fabbulously friendly staff and they are very helpful and determined to make your stay as pleasant as possible. In the height of the season there is an outside and inside bar which helps stop too many people queuing at any one time. The food is excellent and there is a great choice at every meal, they even have vegetarian dishes which is rare for Spain. There are no noisy lager louts at this hotel as this would not be tolerated by the management. We went all inclusive which is good value for money. This is our 4th visit and we will return again.
