"Overbooked, unhelpful staff, and no refund — left us paying for a room we couldn’t use."

We had a very disappointing experience with Courtyard by Marriott Düsseldorf Seestern. We had booked two rooms for a 2-night stay well in advance, only to receive an email just 3 days before arrival informing us that our reservation had been moved to a different property due to overbooking. This was extremely inconvenient, especially given the short notice. We clearly communicated that we did not want to be relocated and requested a refund instead. However, the hotel staff were completely uncooperative and refused to process any refund. What made matters worse was the tone of communication — it felt dismissive and rude, with the responsibility being pushed onto Booking.com rather than being handled professionally by the hotel. As a result, we were forced into an uncomfortable situation and ended up not using one of the rooms, leading to a complete waste of money. Overall, this experience reflects very poor customer service and lack of accountability. We would strongly advise future guests to be cautious when booking here, especially if reliability and respectful communication matter to you.

Das Personal im Restaurant war sehr freundlich! Das ist aber auch schon das einzig positive

Die Klimanlage funktionierte nicht bzw. war so laut, dass man meinte ein Hubschrauber würde starten. Die Ausstattung des Zimmers war mehr als veraltet. Es gab keine Dusche sondern eine Wanne mit Duschabtrennung. Das ganze Badezimmer war nicht sehr sauber. Das Wasser lief nicht ordentlich ab! Die Fliesenfugen waren extrem verdreckt! Das Bett war unbequem, durchgelegen und zu weich!
