The Maddox Inn

Worst run down place I’ve stayed in. The pictures do not match the bookings. The building was built in the 70/80’s and it showed it. Falling apart. Dirty bathrooms and most likely original mattresses. The only good thing is the coffee/pastry voucher you get for the shop next door. If we could’ve stayed somewhere else we would’ve but going on pony swim weekend, everything was booked. Please avoid this place.

Love this place buttttt our cottage was not cleaned well at all. You just cant leave a tip envelope out when you know you did a crappy job. Dust around every object where only the easy to get spots have been wiped i.e. sit on the sofa bed and look at the tv, tv stand, converter box, etc The 1/2 screened porch has pine needles, spiders, webs, deer ticks, and ants. You gotta sweep that. The bathroom....cleaning person.....you know better....clean that bathroom. Use lysol wipes (left a container of them on the kitchen counter for you) and lift the seat....my god it was gross. I just ran down to the dollar general, got wipes, paper towles, and orange spray. May I suggest a cleaning check list. Those really come in handy especially if you have alot on your plate. Not being rude at all but many reviews are inregards to lack of cleanliness. Weeding also needs to be done. Not just spray and let it go such as around the pool and the dang parking lot. This place is in the best spot in town. You have a great pool and many rooms. Need deep cleaning, weeding, landscaping, etc done. Contact my husband and I. We can work something out for a week. <3

Not clean at all , very noisy , Staff very Rude , no breakfast as advertised. Will never stay here again

The place needs to be renovated, cleaned properly, and needs more maintenance.

Love this place! It is my home away from home now. Very friendly staff, and walkable to great restaurants and shops. The pool is great as well!

Walking distance to shops, coffee shop, restaurants, etc. Wonderful location to walk around town. Definitely will stay here again!

Service was stellar. The stuff couldn't have been more wonderful. The breakfast vouchers for the coffee shoppe next door was a sweet deal. Pool was maintained and clean. The rooms left something to be desired. Outdated and dirty to be honest. I would suggest investing into new beds, linens, towels and curtains. Maybe replacing the shower curtains as well. Just needs some TLC. But overall, love the location and charm of the Maddox Inn.

Amenities are basic and as expected. Nothing fancy, but the hotel is right on the "strip" and they give you breakfast access to the best pastry shop on the island. Easy in and easy out in a town where you will not spend any time indoors!

Outdated and had minor issues but staff is super friendly and location is great. I have no complaints spending what I did to stay here. Other people staying here super nice too. Would totally recommend if you’re on a budget or looking for a non pretentious place to stay

The hostess was nice but the place was a little run down. The room we stayed in was originally part of a ranch style house that they cut up into sections. The toilet wasn’t attached to the floor, the vanity wasn’t attached to the wall and there were holes in the bottom of the walls where Sheetrock had washed or fallen away over the years.
