ESJ Beach Hotel

It was unsanitary, there was an unpleasant-smelling on the hallways by the time we were in the hotel. There was construction going on at the pool area so we were not sure if this was the cause for this. Our stay was disappointing from the start. Accessing the hotel was inconvenient as there were only stairs, no ramp or assistance which made it really difficult to carry our luggage in. On top of that, when I politely asked to step outside near the reception area to look at the beach, I was told not to open the door and directed elsewhere, which felt unwelcoming.

all the photos online of this property are deceiving!! i was scared to shower every day because i was nervous the plumbing would explode while i was in there. the tile corners and shower fixtures are so incredibly dingy and gross. the amount of money this property charges people i’m sure they can put some money into renovations because jeez!! i couldn’t even get into my balcony the first night there because it was so rusted shut. it took all my friends pulling to pry it open and when we got out there we saw the disgusting condition the balcony was in and the fact the railing was held together by a piece of plywood haha that was crazy to see. don’t get me started on the ridiculous amount of fruit flies appearing out of no where every single day multiplying!! my time in puerto rico was amazing but i was sad every time i had to return to the hotel to change/sleep. do yourself a favor and stay somewhere like a marriott. the amount i spent for what i got is criminal, i feel like i was scammed :( wish i could get my money back bc this was not a great experience i feel fooled.

The property is runned down. The rooms are antiquated and dirty. Dead water bug by the bed. But worst of all pool advertised hasn’t been open in years.

The property was in a great location. It was not as run down as the reviews showed. However, we booked with Expedia and selected queen beds, which the property does not even have. We were given double beds only in 1 room and a King and chair sleeper in the other even though I called 3 times to make sure we would have two queen beds in each room. Also, the room was not ready when we arrived, but it only took them 15 minutes to ready. We were missing bedding which they sent up in a few hours after our request and we never received the extra blanket. The beach access is also only from 7 AM to 7 PM, which made it difficult for us since we went on several excursions and didn't make it back in time. Overall it was a good stay. The shower had plenty of hot water and the beds were comfortable. The lenai we booked was pretty run down. We're not too picky so the room was acceptable to us.

Sadly pool was not open due to remodeling, but beach access is at back door! Staff was friendly & helpful. Rooms have full kitchen so def was a bonus! Def will be staying again

My overall experience was VERY mid. When we got there our balcony door didn’t open. Had to wait a day for someone to come and “fix” it (tell us not to lock it so it can stay open). They only came to take our dirty towels and told us we only clean the rooms if your staying 4 nights or longer. Mold smell in the room. I wouldn’t come back. Not worth it for the price you pay.

I love that the property is right on the beach and there’s access to lots of restaurants. The room was clean and had an updated bathroom and full kitchen. But building is a bit run down and no pool or beach chairs.

No swimming pool is on remodeling, my granddaughters was disappointing, two beach towels for 5 people, ask for absolute Vodka not have, ask for Cranberries juice no has ,ask for Ron and coke no run only flavored, no park for my truck the said is too high was so bad my daughter and granddaughters stay only one night me andy wife stay alone for 4 day in a 5 person roon ,,, never again and i have more 😡😤

Wonderful hotel! Great views just like the pictures!
