Although the wait staff and breakfast meals were both outstanding, the managerial staff was rude and dismissive to me and my travel companion several times. In addition, the rooms look beautiful in their website photos, but in actuality, the condition of the room was disappointing - holes in the walls, ripped drapes, rusty plumbing, and holes in the floor. The walls were paper thin and we could clearly hear the other guests talking and their TVs in the adjoining rooms. I would not recommend anyone stay here.

If you're skeptical of staying here b/c it's not in French Quarter, don't be! The $6-8 Uber ride at night (when drinking) was nothing, and the place is a truly authentic experience. The owner and June are very professional, an committed to you having a great stay. The breakfast alone makes it worthwhile as Miss Denise and Mister Kevin provided both delicious creole food and a relaxing, warm homey atmosphere. We stayed in the larger william bell suite, and the smaller Pierre room; both were very pleasant. From butterflies to bluejays and crows, to friendly neighborhood cats, the whole place is teeming with life and history. This was a very good experience, and we would return. I'm also thankful I didn't stay in the french quarter.
