The Westwood

this is a college dorm. my bad review is mostly in regards to the Expedia listing and it trying to make it seem like a hotel. the staff was very nice but I feel the listing is inaccurate. My wife and I are in our 30s and celebrating our anniversary in Ireland and staying at a college dorm room was probably the least romantic thing lolol.

These rooms are university dorms, I believe, but if you’re popping into Galway for a day or two during the summer, they’re comfortable and well kept. Staff are friendly and attentive. Parking may be an issue if you’re driving but there’s a free lot that’s maybe a five minute walk from the hotel you can use. You’re definitely away from the town centre, but we drove in so that’s no problem. Grab an Uber and it’ll probably be something like €10 to get you downtown, not bad at all. Overall, a pleasant stay!

The reception staff were extremely helpful and the kitchen was very clean with lots of instructions on how to use the oven etc. Thoroughly recommend it.

Property was very clean and friendly, nice and quiet. Staff was very helpful.

My friend and I really enjoyed our stay here. The rooms were clean and spacious and all the facilities were well-maintained. The location was close to town and right next to a bus stop which was very convenient. The staff were pleasant and happy to help us with any questions we had.

Well proportioned apartments and personal bedrooms. You’ll find everything you need in the shared kitchen/living room area as well. Modern really clean and an on-site spar shop to get the necessities too. Carpark img payable for €6 a day and within a 20 min walk of the university of Galway and 30 mins to Eyre square or take the bus located right at the spar shop

*****NOT a HOTEL******** Please read the listing very carefully, this is not a hotel. To be fair, it never says it is a hotel, but if you're using an app, you sort of expect a hotel. This is student housing (dorms) rented out during the non-school time. It was clean and quiet. Not very spacious. You have a private bedroom and bathroom. There are common areas you also have access to. There is no AC. Bathroom and bedroom are very, very small.It suited our needs very well, but it wasn't a hotel.

This would work for a college student traveling alone, but not for a family or even a couple. This is bare bones campus living. It is close to a convenience store so at least you can get coffee in the morning. Staff did not seem overly eager to be helpful. Rooms were clean
