Waterford Castle

Everything was grand.

heating was not working downstairs so it was cold, reception on the first call said no one available to come and look, but offered to look at the end of his shift at 11pm! not much good as we would be in bed. On second call 1.5 hrs later (9.30 pm) said they would send staff. arrived 30mins later got gas fire going (there was no pilot light and he had to take it apart to fix it), bit late but better than nothing. he could not get the central heating working. when we tried to dry clothes in dryer it started smoking! central heating gas boiler had sticker saying next service due 30th April 2025! if that was not bad enough window was damaged and could not be closed properly in living area, the weather was bad (windy and raining) so there was a draft with no heating, it was not what you would expect from a 4 star resort. On complaining at checkout in Waterford caste reception staff just shrugged his shoulders! absolutely disgusted especially when it cost €480 for the night. not good enough Waterford Castle! Maintain your properties, have better staffing levels and train them in customer service!! Lodge was beautiful pity they don't maintain them.

Absolutely beautiful grounds and loved the Shuir Suite. It was fabulous and we enjoyed the excellent dinner and breakfast at the Castle.

It was absolutely beautiful on the island we loved every second of our stay
