Waterford Castle

The waterford castle did not disappoint! Beautiful property, ferry ride over to the private island and a friendly staff ready to tell you all about the wallabies and deer that share the island! The castle is gorgeous and the food is fine dining at its best! It is a true old castle so expect authenticity and a minor reduction in modern day amenities, but also know it is absolutely worth it! This stay made our trip highly memorable!

Very large and spacious - nice laundry facilities. The largest space we stayed in.

Although large and spacious it felt very sterile and institutional. We had issues with hot water. There were not clear instructions and the hot water was off when we arrived. Also the lighter for stove was out of starter fluid. They did send someone right away but we were on a tight time schedule so didn’t get showers

We had a wonderful time. It was quiet, beautiful sunset with dolphins

The mattresses were a little hard, beds small, room stuffy despite windows open during the night.

Great to stay as a family together in the lodge. The castle reception staff were wonderful both checking in and out. Very peaceful and relaxing location which we needed after a long day driving and touristing!

Beautiful location with amazing wildlife, including deer and white wallaby. The accommodation was stunning it felt like we were staying in a hotel . Close to Waterford city for shopping and restaurants .

Could maybe do with a few more activities for older kids. Also a few more eating options on the island and a coffee shop would be brilliant .
