Great hotel with good amenities and a fabulous staff that is always eager to assist. I recommend the restaurant as well. Both breakfast and supper were excellent. And thanks for helping us with our bags, Tumelo!

An excellent welcoming, safe, airport hotel. The best choice here without a doubt. We were met by a friendly porter at the airport who escorted us on the 1 minute walk to the hotel. We requested this in advance, although in hindsight it felt very easy and safe going between the hotel and the airport. Every member of staff we met (restaurant, security, concierge, restaurant, housekeeping etc) were so helpful and so welcoming. Thank you. We booked a junior suite - spacious and nicely presented. The common parts of the hotel are also well maintained and tasteful. The hotel is so quiet - we didn’t hear a single plane. The concierge arranged to store our spare luggage whilst we head off on safari. Two small observations: a heated radiator for the bathroom would be useful and the air con unit in the bedroom was quite noisy. We look forward to staying here again in a few days, on return from safari. Excellent service in the perfect airport hotel. Thank you.

An unexpected great airport hotel and restaurant. Really could not find fault. Perfect after a long day and night of travel.

A lovely welcoming hotel if you need an overnight at Joburg airport - fabulous breakfast too.

We stayed at the Intercontinental Johannesburg O.R. Tambo a few times over the course of stay in South Africa. The hotel is terrific, with everyone on the staff supremely competent and helpful. I strongly recommend you consider this on your next stay.

An absolutely great hotel right across from the airport terminal. Every little detail is looked after and all staff are extremely polite, helpful and welcoming. A great location for a short stay at airport. Our room is spacious, nicely furnished, supplied with all you can expect at a 5 star hotel including robes, slippers, a bed turn over service with chocolates etc. There is a nice restaurant and bar as well as a smoking lounge if you are that way inclined. You are greeted by a staff member every step of the way. Thank you

I had a last-minute stay at the InterContinental Johannesburg due to a missed connection, and I couldn’t have been more impressed. From the moment I arrived, the experience exceeded expectations. Despite my late arrival, the restaurant was still open, which is quite rare and I was grateful as I was starving. I ordered the soup of the day and the grilled line fish and both were absolutely delicious. The fish was perfectly cooked and well seasoned, making for a truly satisfying meal. The room was exceptionally clean, quiet, and very comfortable, just what I needed. I also appreciated the reliable and personalized wake-up call, which made sure I didn’t miss my rescheduled flight. What stood out most was the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. Everyone I interacted with was courteous, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. This hotel turned an unfortunate travel hiccup into a truly positive experience.

our room was large, comfortable and clean and was so close to the airport. It included the late check out as our flight wasn’t until the afternoon. Welcome staff were great. We were offered a complimentary drinks voucher but on ordering a vodka and tonic was told it was only valid for wine, beer and cocktails not spirits, although cocktails contain spirits so that makes no sense. The restaurant is a lovely setting but maybe a bit too formal for us on an overnight stay. In hindsight I’d wished we’d checked the in room dining first. We ordered venison but on wanting to change the side on one of the dishes, they were happy to not put it on the plate but wanted to charge for a different side (never had this in other restaurants, they just swap it). Portions were huge and we could have shared and despite asking both to be cooked medium, they came rare. In the morning at breakfast there was work going on in the lobby and they were using a very strong smelling sealer that was just awful. The food selection was great and tasty but we didn’t appreciate the bill being put on our table before being asked if we were actually finished. We have stayed at many Intercontinental hotels across the world and although this wasn’t a bad stay it didn’t quite meet the standard we are used to.

Convenient for late arriving flights from US. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Good and reasonably priced restaurant and room service.
