InterContinental Johannesburg O.R Tambo Airport by IHG

Stayed for 1 night after spending time on safari before the long flight home. Super convenient location to the airport. Room was spacious, well appointed, good coffee/mini bar with reasonable prices. Very quiet. We initially looked to make a reservation at the restaurant and found nothing available until quite late but when we walked up without the reservation, we were seated promptly with no wait. Food and service were good. The breakfast was really spectacular with a fantastic buffet spread and cooked to order food also. Proximity to the airport was great and allowed us to do some last minute gift shopping ahead of our flight. Staff were very accommodating and we were able to secure a late checkout with no issues. The only negative was that the onsite jewelry/gift shop was not open at all during our stay. Minor inconvenience.

Gone downhill! Love this hotel because of the proximity to the airport. But... Minibar had no beer. Left a note above stating there was no beer and to please add some. Crickets! Nespresso coffee maker did not work, so I ended up drinking Nescafe! Menus are misleading - a boervous roll is not like a sausage roll, but more like a sausage on a sandwich, misleading. Sucks! I have stayed here five times and always loved this place, but won't stay here again.

Quite stylish and upmarket for an airport hotel. Indoor pool very small. Food excellent, service mostly efficient, not particularly friendly or warm. One particular breakfast waitress seemed very agitated and on verge of exploding at every request to the point it was actually quite funny the furious looking her face and stroppy walk, pure unintentional comedy gold from her.

An excellent choice for an overnight stay at the airport. Lovely quiet room. Good food in the restaurant and decent breakfast. The staff were helpful. Thoroughly recommendable.

Great hotel with amazing convenience to the airport. We stayed there 3 different times during our trip to Africa. Shout out to Sinalo our waiter at breakfast...he was so attentive and made sure our first meal of the day was perfect in every way. The rooms were quiet and comfortable....just what travelers crave. Will return one day!

Quills restaurant at the hotel is so good. Order the steak and ask for Godfrey to be your server. He’s the best! The hotel also has a good gym and very friendly staff that will escort you to and from the airport if you request.

Excellent 5 star hotel in a great location. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Great restaurant and lounge areas. No views other than the airport but easily accessible and conveniently located adjacent to O. R. Tambo Airport. Outstanding service and superb cuisine with special thanks to Wonder and Moza. Love the indoor heated pool and Spa. Overall an excellent hotel.

Perfect short stay when transiting through Joburg. Service was incredible - from the bag porters, service staff (shout out to Pinky and Andile) and even the chefs. Good gym to use to help with jet lag.

It is always a wonderful experience staying at the OR Tambo Intercontinental airport hotel. The staff are professional, extremely efficient and super friendly. The best airport hotel by far!

It was a little busy at check-in time, but they opened another desk to help move people through. We ordered room service and it came so promptly and the food was very good. The swimming pool was gorgeous and very warm. We had breakfast the next day and Tumi was our waitress. She was prompt and kind and very efficient. Since we are members, they allowed us a late check-out since we had a late flight. It could not be more convenient to the airport. Worth a little extra money for that convenience.
