Casa Marina Sosua, Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive

I stayed at Casa Marina in March this year for a week. The rooms and food were great, and the animation team was excellent, especially Amaurys Paulino

Beautiful beaches, well maintained rooms, and overall great staff. Everyone has a smile on their face, lots of activities to do and extremely nice staff that run the activities. The buffet staff are quick with refills and for someone with allergies there are lots of options. 5/5 stars!

After our trip to Cuba was canceled we looked at a lot of different options, we settled on Select at Casa Marina(Adults Only) We have been to the Dominican Republic over 60 times, I’m a retired travel agent. We loved the atmosphere at the resort, the staff was amazing (most of them) we loved being able to go to the à-la-carte restaurants every night, our favourite was Herman’s, the Italian and Mexican were nice too, we are not big on seafood so we only tried that one once. Making reservations was easy, we were able to book 2 nights in advance and we always got our preferred time. The bars had a nice selection of drinks and the bartenders were always nice and friendly with us. The room was simple but very clean. We never did see our maid but we left her money and a gift each day. The grounds were kept very clean and they were always working on cleaning or painting something. We were there for 14 days, we had a lovely time until our second to last night, we are animal lovers, we brought cat food from home because I had read there were cats at the resort. We never feed them restaurant food because I know it encourages the cats to beg for food and I understand not everyone likes that. The night in particular we saw 2 security guards chasing some very young cats, slamming loungers against walls to try and hurt them. My husband confronted them and they tried to say they were trying to catch them to bring them to their house to kill rats! Well that is not the way you catch a poor cat! We were so upset, we didn’t talk all through our meal, we complained to the person at the front desk at the Select side and he said he hated the cats and it was a good thing they were trying to get them to leave the resort. The next day I went to the front desk and spoke to the on-duty manager, he was nicer and seemed to understand why we were so upset by this. So all this being said, we had a great time, I thought we had found our new favourite resort but we probably will not go back to this resort. This is why I’m giving a rating of a 3 star, it would easily been a 5 if not for those 2 security guards.
