Motel 6-Southgate, MI - Detroit

Got to location late, unable to use very nice swimming pool as it was closed. Room was clean and smelled good. High toilet, easy to use. Ice machine had lots of ice, room well supplied with what I needed.

Fire at motel burned down the suite units, information not disclosed on website. Very deep pothole on service drive, looked like it had been there for a while. Should have had cones around it. Dangerous and potentially dangerous for people and vehicles. Lock on door was being fussy, had to wiggle the key card around a lot to get it to open. Plastic chairs which I see in many Motel 6's are very hard and uncomfortable. A few sketchy neighbors above me, at 2:00 AM there were yelling, slamming door and doing with what sounded and felt like jumping jacks. Fortunately, only lasted about 15 minutes.

Convenient location. Pool was nice. Room was newly updated. Everything was clean. The Nice sized fridge was great to have. The front desk woman was very nice and efficient.

There was some construction going on a damaged side of building. It didn’t bother us we just didn’t know prior to arrival, so it looked very shocking pulling up. Then we saw that the office was located in a temporary building on the grounds. There was a lot of freeway noise heard in the room but we just kept the tv on.

They respect your privacy. Its affordable. Clean. And peaceful. Great room service.

My experience been pretty good. No complaints.

I have not finished the renovation front office, which had a fire in December

The room I was in was recently renovated. It was very nice! I especially liked the walk in shower.

It’s still under construction from a fire. It’s also right next to the expressway.
