Although a good value for the area, the hotel was on a really crowded road that made it really hard to get out of the parking lot. The breakfast was good and the pool was nice and clean. The bathroom in our room was really run down. The wallpaper was peeling and there were stains all over the walls. The carpet in the room was stained in many places. The beds were comfortable. The drive to downtown Newport was over 25 minutes due to traffic.

The bathtub and toilet were clean. The mattress was comfortable and clean. The four members of the housekeeping staff I interacted with were professional, friendly and attentive to my request. However, while showering for the first time, I saw the shower curtain, both the detachable, snap-off part and the main upper part, had what appeared to be blood/fecal stains. In turn, this led to an extremely poor encounter with Alicia at concierge regarding potential compensation. Rather than de-escalate the situation, she progressively responded in a louder and louder voice and cutting me off while I spoke, which I find to be completely inappropriate, esp. because it related to a sanitation problem. Other employees were courteous the rest of the stay. Breakfast options provided variation daily. My rating balances overall observations and the highly argumentative interaction that I deem improper.
