Gisborough Hall Hotel

Fantastic location , great views . Stayed Friday night , breakfast great . Unfortunately our room wasn’t what we expected . On arrival the room we was given was a nice room , not short of being updated but this didn’t spoil our nights stay . On having a good night out and returning to the bar for drinks then retreating to bed As the night went on on the room above were using the sink and toilet throughout the night , Unfortunately everytime the guests above used the sink or toilet it sounded like water was running , dripping into the room . My advice is not to avoid the hotel but to avoid room 129 , On the right from the lift first floor . Old hall superior room . As I say spectacular building , great place !

The hotel and location is fantastic! The staff are very friendly and helpful.

The food was below a poor pub food standard. I had a rump steak, asked for it medium, it was like a very cheap cut of meat which only tasted of coal. My wife had the pork which was also bad very dry with no taste and tough. Honestly won't go back due to the food served, which is a shame as its a lovely hotel.

No dressing gowns or slippers Bland bedroom decor (no cushions or throws on bed Tired & dirty sofas & chairs in lounge and library walk through Ripped curtains in Chaloners restaurant Ugly chandeliers in Chanolers restaurant (lots of bulbs out) Dirty windows throughout the hotel No safes in room (would protect guests and staff if they were installed) Shower very cramped and Husband couldn’t stand underneath it. Family Group sat next to us in Du Brus restaurant and were f…ing & swearing throughout our wedding anniversary meal celebration. Lots of gentlemen were wearing scruffy shorts at breakfast, (not a good look in such a lovely room) Speed humps need repainting yellow as we’re hard to see when driving in. USB sockets for phones were too low down and nowhere near the bedside Walking distance to the room was long Got woken up two mornings running at 03.00 and 05:00 by a dog barking in the distance (not from a residents room, possibly a Shepherds hut) No sign on front door to stipulate that this is the entrance Not enough chairs & tables on outdoor terrace Hopefully the Manager & Owner will take notice and improve the standards in order to elevate the standards and improve the guest experience. Lots of room for improvements.
