Hotel Healdsburg

Pros: The hotel has a nice vibe and its position is great. Has its own pizza restaurant which is open on Mon and Tues when few other restaurants are open The bed is very comfortable- not surprising after wine tasting! Cons: For us, breakfast was included but their process is clunky! As not everyone has breakfast included, no bowels and plates at buffet, so you have to go and ask for them. There is free water in room but it tastes foul. Lemon water at reception is better but use of too many plastic cups!! The hotel recommends trying to use towels more than once but no real place to dry them in room! We were asked to have a credit card on file and on day one, $100 was put on. Day 2-$300 put on,day 3- $1000 put on- we obviously are checking on this but it should be one hold only, not daily and we have not used anything in hotel! Concierge- we had booked two private wine tastings at Ridge and Idlewild(both exceptional). When we went to pay, they told us due to where we were staying, they were free! Fabulous surprise but when we spoke to concierge, she had not clue about this benefit! So do ask wineries at booking! Coffee machines in rooms are the type that you cannot make a long coffee and no kettle to make tea.

Healdsburg Hotel has large, well maintained rooms with walk-in showers and comfortable beds. Rooms are quiet. The concierge and valet staff are helpful. Excellent spa and large pool. Plan to stay again soon.

HH has regained its mojo! The renovation got rooms looking good again. Service was the best its been in 5 years, still has a way to go though. After 20 years, its time to replace the squeeky hallway floors. Lounge is lovely, area is 5 star fun.

Stayed overnight for a local performance/show mid April. The hotel is lovely and centrally located but avoid the breakfast.

We came for a long weekend of wine tasting and bike riding and this hotel was the perfect location! Right on the square and within walking distance to all the restaurants and stores. The hotel is beautifully decorated with natural colors and lots of windows. Wine tasting every night in the lobby. Valet car service was included, not extra charge. Overall, a wonderful experience and can’t wait to go back.

We stayed at Hotel Healdsburg hoping for a relaxing two-day escape, drawn in by its reputation as a luxury boutique hotel. The location is ideal—right on the town plaza—and the building itself is beautifully designed with lush greenery and a calming, modern aesthetic. In anticipation of our stay, I reached out to the hotel’s concierge with a warm note. My mother was flying in from abroad, and with Mother’s Day coming up, I hoped to make her visit feel a little extra special. I asked if the hotel offered any complimentary touches or family-friendly amenities, and also requested guidance on kid-welcoming dining and wineries. Disappointingly, I never received a reply. That lack of communication unfortunately set the tone for the service we experienced once we arrived. The rooms were tastefully decorated and included all the basics, but lacked thoughtful details—no towel hooks in the shower area, very small nightstands, and we even noticed cobwebs on the ceiling. The pillows were surprisingly uncomfortable, which made it hard to get proper rest. It was clear that comfort wasn’t prioritized to the extent it should be at a hotel of this standard. Service throughout our stay felt cold and impersonal. On multiple occasions, we tried to reach room service with no response. When I eventually called the front desk for tea and coffee, we were simply sent Nespresso pods and a kettle—no explanation, no warmth. The staff delivering items often came across as disinterested. Though the hotel partners with a restaurant for in-room dining, we were never able to access that service. Compounding our disappointment was the fact that most of the town shuts down early in the week—a heads-up about this would’ve helped us better plan our meals and outings, especially with kids in tow. The only staff member who truly stood out was Charmaine Louzao at the concierge, who was kind, helpful, and responsive when my child had a bad fall and we needed to visit the hospital. Her compassion and professionalism made a real difference. Later, when I became ill in the middle of the night and asked the front desk for basic medication like Advil, they weren’t able to help. Even checkout was clunky, with the team struggling to sort out the daily credit for our two rooms. Hotel Healdsburg has all the ingredients to be a memorable, high-end boutique experience: beautiful surroundings, a great location, and a tranquil vibe. But the lack of warmth, attentiveness, and basic responsiveness made it hard to fully enjoy our time there. We left feeling like we’d stayed at a stylish hotel that unfortunately doesn’t yet meet the standard of care its image suggests.

The Healdsburg Hotel was recommended to us. The staff were excellent, engaging and friendly. The room was clean and functional. My wife and I enjoyed a meal in Dry Creek Kitchen and would recommend this dining option. However, the hotel is in need of a refurbishment. It has clearly received a very good makeover but the property requires more than just painting.

The hotel blends contemporary style with a laid-back vibe that made me feel instantly at home. The rooms were very spacious, tastefully appointed, and incredibly comfortable—offering the perfect retreat after day of exploring the town. I especially appreciated the peaceful ambiance and thoughtful touches that made the stay feel both refined and relaxing. The location, right on the plaza, couldn’t be more convenient—allowing access to tasting rooms, restaurants, and shops with ease. The staff was professional, welcoming, and attentive throughout my stay. Look forward to returning! Excellent for girls trip due to smart room configurations.
