Courtyard Newark Granville

Our stay at the Marriott was awesome & all of the staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. We had a great time there and I would recommend to anyone.

It was a nice hotel and the staff was super friendly.

Nice property

Nice staff, clean, quiet

Beds were spongy. The building is dated.

Late check in went seamlessly and the front desk gal sounded genuinely happy to see us. Our room reserved for 4 people only had 3 towels and 3 washcloths which requires us to ask for another set and seems unnecessary. We ordered coffee drinks in the AM and the gal making the drinks did not seem to know what she was doing to make the drinks, seemed very nervous, ran out of milk and the drinks ended up flavorless. I really, the hotel was welcoming and clean. Beds were comfortable. Would stay again and just know to stop at the Starbucks drive thru instead of getting coffee at the hotel.

It was located in the town that we needed it to be located in.

Let’s start with the most serious issues. There was a substance that looked like blood on the floor leading into the bathroom. There was mold everywhere in the bathroom. There were bugs. I have pictures attached for proof of all. This is got to be my top five worst hotels I’ve ever stayed in. I have significant mold, allergies, and I now have a respiratory infection. I can’t prove beyond the shadow of a doubt that the mold in the room that I stayed in was the reason for the respiratory infection. What I can do is tell you that the only time I get respiratory infections is when I’m exposed to significant amounts of mold like I was in this room specifically when they’re in the restroom bathing area because the mold spores start flying when you’re trying to bathe. The less serious issues their pool was down for maintenance. I wish we had known about that beforehand. Also, there was an issue with the TV. The volume didn’t go up past the middle setting. I could not hear the TV enough to know what anyone was saying on it. We definitely won’t be staying here next time. And my brother lives in town so we were hoping to find a hotel that we could use from time to time. But we will keep looking and try somewhere else next time because I cannot do gross and this place was gross. See pictures.
