Village Hotel Manchester Bury

Not very much, unfortunately.

Unfortunately, someone had smoked in our room previously. And with having two young children we needed to change rooms. There was still cigarette smoke on the window still. We tried to change rooms, but unfortunately they were fully booked, which is not their fault. But absolutely no mention whatsoever of a refund or any discount on our room which we had to stay in. I asked a few times to speak to the manager who wasn’t in until after we left but was reassured she would call me on the Monday, which was three days ago. The cleanliness of the rooms is really bad please see attached photos.

The location of the hotel is great and the exterior looks very nice

I received a courtesy call offering a £10 upgrade for an early check-in, late check-out, leisure facilities, parking, and a Club Room. However, when I arrived, the upgrade wasn't even on the system. I had to go back to reception twice because the first staff member didn't know anything about it. We were told our room was a Club Room, but unlike the actual Club Rooms, ours didn't even say "Club" on the outside. The room itself was small, dark, and the carpet was visually dirty. It smelled strongly of smoke and damp. On top of that, the iron didn't work, and the TV wouldn't connect to the hotel internet to pair with my phone, despite being advertised as a Smart TV. Very disappointing experience for an "upgraded" room.

Very comfy bed. Excellent facilities.

Breakfast wasn't very good. Bacon and sausages were very dried up. Enjoyed the fried eggs

Very thin wall, poor soundproofing. Couldn't sleep in the presence of a couple in the next room. They were busy, busy couple, very loud and noisy. First, their screams, followed by their loud TV. I had an exam next morning.
