Everything was amazing aside from the fact that our room did not have AC or even a fan that was functional so we had to leave the windows open. Which for the time of year was perfect but later in the summer will definitely be an issue.

"Nice Location, But Disappointing Experience"

4.0

I booked a lakeside balcony view room, but when I arrived, I was told I’d need to pay an extra $100 to actually get that room. I understand this might have been due to a third-party booking issue, but it still felt misleading and disappointing — especially since the view was the main reason I chose this resort. The breakfast was also far below expectations: just coffee, a granola bar, and an apple. For a place calling itself a resort, that’s really underwhelming. Even budget hotels like Holiday Inn offer a full hot breakfast. The location is beautiful, but overall, the experience didn’t match the price. I expected better communication and more value for the money.

I need to share that the exceptional staff listened when I happened to mention that our stay would be for our 5th wedding anniversary, and we found a wonderful cheesecake sampler plate in our room after checking in with a hand-written note. That was a very nice gesture and made us feel very welcome and appreciated. On the other side of that coin, I feel compelled to express my profound disappointment over the continental breakfast (which could hardly be called that). Providing a bowl of fruit - and not really fruit that one would associate with breakfast - along with tiny granola bars and less-than-appetizing muffins isn't what I expected from this resort. That kind of thing is usually reserved for a Best Western or a Motel 6 (and frankly, they do a better job of it than this resort did). I suggest the owners consider upping their game when it comes to this. While I understand it was a weekday and you don't want to put out all sorts of food, surely the staff can analyze how many people are staying on those days and put out something a little bit better/more appealing? All of that said, our stay was exemplary, and we will be returning in the future given that this resort has become our place to stay for our anniversary. Here's hoping they take these comments seriously and do better with their complimentary breakfast.

We loved this property. Beautiful. Clean. Close to the town of Estes, Rocky Mount Park, and Boulder only 40 min drive. Rooms are so nice, lots of storage space, fireplace in the room so relaxing. Mattresses are comfortable. The food at Embers (the onsite restaurant) is amazing. Muffins with the morning coffee are delicious. And amazing views in every direction. Staff friendly and extremely helpful. Loved every min.

The property itself is beautiful, however there absolutely 0 amenities available. There’s no breakfast, no coffee, not even hot water. Rooms are cleaned only if you ask. Staff was mediocre with their service. Barely anything around. There is an overpriced restaurant onsite.

"LOUD MUSIC"

LOUD music at night and at 6am. Front desk seemed to not care. I would definitely not stay on the wkd. Also no free coffee and muffins fri-sun. Not sure what we are paying the resort fee for.

"Fire pits unavailable and front desk unhelpful"

4.0

Upon check-in, we were greeted by Max who kindly told us about the hotel. We asked specifically about the fire pits and smores as smores was a primary reason we booked the Estes Park Resort. Max informed us that the fire pits were available and could be turned on by the front desk staff if they were not lit. He also said the front desk staff were available 24 hours/day. We went to dinner and then returned hoping to cook some smores around 10:30 pm. The fire pits were off outside so we stopped by the front desk to request they be lit. The woman working at the front desk said they usually turn the fire pits off around 11 pm. I responded that we would love to enjoy them for the next 20-30 minutes. However, then she responded that she did not have a lighter and therefore could not light them. This was an extremely frustrating experience. My friends were visiting from Utah and North Carolina, and I was so hoping to have smores by the fire pit around the lake in the evening. If the fire pits were only available for limited hours, I would have appreciated if the front desk would have warned us upon check-in. Furthermore, I don't understand how the front desk did not have a lighter given just hours before we were told they could light them for us if needed. This was an extremely frustrating experience and I will likely not recommend the Estes Park Resort to others as the amenities advertised were not available.
