"Acceptable Stay"

6.0

The hotel was easy to reach, had ample free parking, and was in walking distance of downtown. The room, however, was very hot and cramped. Since there was no air conditioning, we kept the window open, but the sun was shining in, so the room remained uncomfortably hot until about 4:00 a.m. and we had to listen to traffic noise. There was really no room to walk around or to place luggage. There was no toilet paper holder (apparently broken sometime in the past). The breakfast bar was very simple with not a lot to choose from. There were no elevators, so hauling our luggage to the third floor wasn't easy. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall, given the price, this hotel is fine if you just need a place to sleep for the night. If you plan to stay several days and want maximum comfort, you might want to spend more and find another place.

"Don't choose sight unseen"

2.0

I'm 82, had to walk down stairs to desk, up 3 flights to dingy room, carefully navigating raised aluminum thresh holds, which are a SERIOUS tripping hazard. There are broken screens on broken windows. 'Breakfast' consisted of toast and lukewarm coffee, no place to sit with it except outside, or back in your room on your lap. At checkout time a copy of the bill couldn't be provided, it was to be emailed, nearly 24 hours later I'm still waiting for it. I traveled with brother, we were both told (separately) 'no cancellation fee' and that proved to be untrue. The ONLY positive statement would be that towels were white and clean.

"Basic but clean"

Small hotel in walking distance from centre. Rooms very small with little space to out cases. However, very clean and good complementary breakfast.

"Comfy bed and quiet without the fuss"

10.0

It was exactly what I needed. I don't need fancy. I had a comfy bed, a working fridge and microwave...and it was quiet. Close enough to walk to my downtown conference.

"Spend more now and don't regret it later"

2.0

My husband and I traveled to Anchorage for the Mayor's Half Marathon we booked hotels with a tight budget in mind. However, after our next to awful experience at Anchorage Downtown I feel like every other traveler to Anchorage should be warned. Do not be deceived by the price. Pay the extra and go to anywhere else downtown. We actually checked into this hotel and had so many issues with our room that we left the same day. We arrived to the hotel at 11 am to drop off our bags with the bell desk however they advised that they could check us in early. However, the door to our room was broken so we were instructed to check into the office every time we came and left the hotel. We dropped off our bags and didn't return to the hotel until about 9 am. I wanted to shower and the hotel water didn't work. After 30 minutes of the front desk girl (she's awesome and super nice) trying to help us, we asked to leave. The owner told the girl that it was fine. However, we packed up and left the room to find the owner in the front office. He was really rude and refused to refund us for the first day even though we hadn't been there for longer than 30 minutes - which they would know since we didn't even have a key to our room. Any way, spare yourself the hassle and money. Just spend the little extra on a decent establishment.

"Hotel rooms not clean and staff rude"

2.0

Worst experience with the hotel and their staff. Room was not the same as shown in their fancy picture Comforter and bed sheet were dirty Room was not clean Room second lock was broken which denies you of privacy. AND NEVER use washroom when you are alone in the room as door get locked and you cannot open until you have special tool. This is a real safety problem. On complaining about above problems the receptionist was so rude and she gave explaination for each which makes no sense. Also, you will not be able to reach the manager. When asked for manager number she denied and even she was not sure if he will visit property next day. I think staff should be more professional and should know how to keep their guests happy. Guys NEVER BOOK this hotel if you don't want to spoil your Alaska vacation. There is some serious problem with this hotel.

"Filthy hotel"

Filthy sheets and filthy room. No shuttle service and keys were not working. You had to be let into your room by worker. Do not believe other Expedia reviews. Hotel would not refund and Expedia could not assist in the matter.

The hotel was clean although rooms were small. The heat wasn't Working so they brought us a portable heater and they were having problems with their card reader. The girl at the frint sesk had to open the doir to oir room with their master key. Unless you are unable to walk up.stairs this was a cheap hotel to stay at. No elevators in hotel.
