"Wouldn't stay again"

2.0

It's like an old apartment building with much needed work, not a hotel. In the rooms you either freeze or sweat like crazy. Smashed finger on broken shower door. No comfortable rooms. I had two. This was just my experience, hope yours was better. Will not stay there again. Not what I expected for a $75 hotel.

"Cheap but not worth it!"

2.0

Found out that everything in Alaska is very expensive. Picked this hotel since it was relatively inexpensive (Sept 2016 for a room with a king bed). The hotel is 3 floors and only has about 7-8 rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floor. No elevator so you have to carry your luggage up and down to the rooms. When I checked in, I was given the key to a room. Upstairs to floor 3 only to find 2 people already in the room sitting on the bed watching TV with the door wide open. That seemed very odd to me. Hotel clerk did not know why people were in the room but gave me a key to another room. Turns out the rooms with the king beds are on the inside of the hotel and the only window cranks out into the hallway. There is no AC in the hotel so the room was hot as all get out. Now I understand why those other people were sitting in their room with the door wide open. There were fans in the room which we used but it was a hot and sticky night anyway. TV was a nice big flat screen but didn't work. The next morning after my wife and I took our showers, the room was hot and humid - like getting dressed in a sauna! So then downstairs to the "Continental" breakfast. This means water, coffee some bread to make toast and a couple of bagels. Very little cereal available. It was essentially non-existent. It was no wonder that Travelocity/Anchorage Downtown Hotel makes you prepay for this room!

"Good"

6.0

The staff were very helpful. A very budget hotel, could do with a facelift, the photos are deceptive. The breakfast was very ordinary. The rooms were quite hot, thank goodness for the fan.

"Extremely basic, cheap hotel"

4.0

This hotel did the job, but the "queen" size beds are really just full size beds, which was disappointing. It's really just a basic, super cheap hotel. It worked for our needs, but we don't plan on ever coming back.

"Adequate but..."

6.0

This is a small, dated though remodeled place. It was adequate but could have stayed elsewhere for the same or less money and a better experience. Breakfast was pitiful and not replenished. Room teeny, bed very squeaky, walls way too thin. Staff was very nice and helpful, especially Kathleen.

"Very hot and no way to cool."

4.0

Not good. Rooms were OK but tiny. Unfortunately the room was very warm with no way to cool it down leading to a difficult sleep night. Cancelled reservations for a future stay and would not recommend.

"Disappointing hotel, great staff"

4.0

Bit disappointing on entering room, fan going and a bit of a funky smell. On investigation huge damp spot at entrance, looked up and obvious water leak from room above. Hotel staff excellent organised a full refund on room.

"I had to attach the toilet seat to the bowl myself"

2.0

The title pretty much says it all. This place was in pretty poor condition and the staff were not very helpful.
