Apex City of Edinburgh Hotel

Great location, it was easy to find and a short walk from the Princess Street tram stop (around 10-15 min). Staff were pleasant. Hotel lobby looked presentable and welcoming. Water fountains to refill your room carafes and water bottles are a great idea. The room was cleaned to a good standard and bed was nicely made.

We have been given an accessible room (did not book an accessible room) and this made the room a bit uncomfortable. The bathroom sink was very low for example. We were on the 2nd floor and the sitting area next to the water fountain looked really tired - damaged sofas with upholstery flaking off. The window looked over the back of the hotel and you could hear deliveries and noise at all hours. The air con only works for heating. We had a small fan to cool the room that did nothing. Windows only open ever so slightly. The room was rather small. No slippers provided in our room, even though they are available, as we have seen them on the cleaning cart on the day of our check out. All in all the hotel room itself did not feel worth the price paid. I believe you are paying mostly for the location.

We loved the location of the property, great base to explore Edinburgh.

Accueil extrêmement aimable et serviable. Très grande et belle chambre. Très bien placé en ville.

La fenêtre de la chambre donnait directement sur la rue et surtout le trottoir, à 5cm ! Impossible de laisser la fenêtre ou les rideaux ouverts. On peut se ravitailler gratuitement en eau filtrée (sans chlore) dans les couloirs, mais pas au premier étage ou nous étions.

We stayed 3 nights in late May. Everything is great except that the room has no air conditioning. It is very hot even with the windows cracked open. There is a table fan but it’s not comfortable for sleeping. Wondering how people stay in summer
