The street traffic was too much, and too loud. The restaurant wasn’t fully opened and seating was bad. Staff was unpleasant. On the bright side, the room was clean. The bathroom was clean. The water was hot. The sheets were clean.

It was very noisy from other rooms and outside. Room and bathroom shower area was too small. Not enough room to sit without being in someone’s way in the room. No free breakfast which it said on the Hotels site that they had. It is just free through the week.
Nice location by the waterfront. Very walkable to downtown and Riverfront area.
Had stayed at the Lafayette a long time ago, this time however, the hotel smelled so musty and weird on the upper floor. Oh, the Sunday buffet was horrible, eggs were so dry, the sausage gravy was very, very spicy hot. For the price the buffet was disappointing. Sad.

I love the historic character of this hotel and the location beside the river is great.
Great stay. The only downside was the main elevator was down and the scary service elevator was the only option, run by hotel staff. However, the staff was friendly and easy to reach, so really not much waiting. The service elevator looked like something from the ‘20s. Lots of shaking groaning and rocking, but it got us to the 5 th floor and back down the next morning. This will not keep us from staying next time, even if we knew the elevator was out, which is unlikely. The bar is great, breakfast is great.
I enjoyed the historical experience of the property. There are many historical photos and they have done an excellent job of renovating the property.
