Holiday Inn Express Southfield-Detroit, an IHG Hotel

The staff was friendly and helpful. The property was in need of a good cleaning and repair. The chair in our room was broken and leaning over to the side. The wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling off the wall, the shower was growing mold in the corner and the air conditioning unit never cooled the room below 74 and the gym area looked as if it hasn’t been cleaned since the first day the property opened.

It was awful. The tv didn't work, the toilet didn't flush, linens were stained and guest services were inattentive. We had to vacate be there were no more rooms available.

Not that bad wall paper was coming off in the bathroom couch had stains in the room they gave me but overall enjoyed the pool and free breakfast

Door didn’t lock, door was completely off the frame and stains all over the floors Front desk was very nice but when I showed them the door didn’t lock they just said the top part locks so it’s fine and didn’t give me a safer space

Very clean hotel both in the general areas as well as the room. Comfortable surroundings and breakfast was good also. Staff was very courteous.

Liked that restaurant and shopping was nearby. It was easy to get to from the highway. What I didn't like was the room wasn't as clean as it should have been. They weren't prepared to serve free breakfast to the number of guest tgey had registered. And the front desk staff provides inconsistent messages. I couldn't reach my IHG membership number at check in I was assured I could come back and add it as long as it was before check out and the lady at the desk at checkout said she didn't know why he told me I could do that. Because it booked online it was impossible for her to add it. Not sure who was telling the truth but it was off putting because I don't like arguing with people. So I walked away as very unhappy customer.

The breakfast is always nice, rooms were sub-par, we stayed 3 nights and housekeeping came one time. Shouldn’t have to ask for towels or coffee.

I am so disappointed that I spent so much money on my son birthday and to get to the hotel and to find out that you guys have bleach and a pool and Jacuzzi and not chlorine. My son has asthma so he was wheezing coughing all the kids was coughing and choking on a bleach or chlorine and I would like another stay with my whole refund back. I am disappointed I am mad that I spent my money on a place like that
